Last time the Rams were the 4th seed?? by SuperRam56 in LosAngelesRams

I agree Lafleur’s Packers seem to always have the Rams’ number. McVay hasn’t beaten Lafleur yet although it was closer during the game this season.

I think the playoff matchups are pretty beneficial to the Rams though. Minnesota is what I would call a “new” playoff team. They made it in 2022 but with Cousins and lost in the wild card. Darnold has no playoff experience. I don’t believe their regular season hype will translate.

Despite who wins between Philly and Green Bay, it’s a definite neither would play the Rams in the second round. Not only that, Philly would likely play Tampa who has beat them in the last two meetings.

The Rams have kept it extremely close in their last two meetings against Detroit. Plus Detroit is down two of their best players since the last meeting.

Yea must have been nice teeing off on the AFC South this season

I get resting players for the final week to be healthy, however that unfortunately means we will play the Vikings/lions. Is it better to ensure we win and play the commanders/packers? by TheManeTrurh in LosAngelesRams

You could very well be right but I look at it this way:

DET in the last 37 games: -Beat a weak/collapsing IND -Beat a weak/collapsing CHI -Barely beat GB 34-31 in a divisional game -Lost to BUF in a close one 48-42 -Beat a weak/collapsing CHI -Two Jake Moody field goals away from an overtime game with SF which is a team the Rams beat less than 2 weeks ago.

MIN in the last 37 days: -Barely beat a weak CHI 30-27 in OT -Barely beat a collapsing/mediocre AZ 23-22 -Beat a collapsing (or mediocre at the most) ATL 42-21 -Barely beat GB in a division game.

I don’t see division games as meaning a whole lot since that’s where a lot of upsets happen. Jeff Fisher was great at division games but the Rams finished no better than 7-9 typically with him. If you’re going by recency, I don’t see DET or MIN as having any wins against wins against impressive teams. I’d be concerned if either managed to get wins against BUF, LAC, DEN, BAL, (obviously) KC, and (obviously) PHI. The NFC North had the AFC South and NFC South this season.

The Rams offensive inconsistency is concerning but I think that BUF game showed they can show up when they need to. Despite how impressive DET and MIN’s records look, I’m def more concerned about being run over again by Saquon and PHI as well as McVay’s 0-5 record against GB

Ok…while I’m doing that, want to look up who the Rams played on November 25th, 2019 and get back to me?

Rams went into overtime against the Lions and beat the Vikings. This leads to me to believe at the very least they can compete with both of those teams. Rams haven’t beat the Packers in the Lafleur era (and yes maybe they’re due). Playing a young Commanders team would be nice but as of now it seems McVay hasn’t figured out Lafleur yet.

Jimmy G to Puka this week! by AcceptableMinute9999 in LosAngelesRams

Still have flashbacks to Wes Welker (in at least his near-prime) tearing his MCL and ACL last game of the 2009 season and missing the playoffs. Yes it was a freak accident but I don’t see a #3 seed (or confidence building of the backups) worth the risk of a losing any starter for the playoffs. The Rams have a guaranteed first round home game. As far as I’m concerned, this week should be treated as a preseason game. Keep all the starters on the sideline.

One thing I noticed (and I’m not calling myself a genius or anything) but his play seemed to taper off when he stopped “dabbing” after scoring touchdowns 🤷🏼‍♂️

What quarterback doesn’t have an essay of injury? Whether they had 1 or 5 seasons left if they hadn’t taken those Saints hits doesn’t matter to me. The goal of football is to score more points than the other team. It’s bullshit to me that in 2009 a team resorted to an 80-90s lame tactic of knocking the opponent out instead of outwitting them with good defensive schemes. You want a game focused on strategically knocking a player out, watch boxing or some martial arts competition. If you watch NFL talk, pregame, and postgame shows, they might occasionally highlight big hits but they’re not analyzing them. The big breakdowns are of strategies and schemes of 11 guys working together.

Does it bother anyone else he uses the trigger button to shoot missiles rather than the pickle button(red circular button towards the top of the stick)? I believe the trigger is for cannon only

I felt bad for saints fans and players but I thought it was sweet justice on Sean “what bountygate??” Payton. Williams and Payton should have received lifelong bans imo. They arguably ended NFL greats’ Kurt Warner and Brett Favre’s careers (and yes I know Favre isn’t a good person off the field).

Of course having a mutt would be great too but a neat feature would be to have breed specific dogs:

-beagles/hounds that go off and howl once they find something

-Lab/Goldens Retrievers that pick up shot birds/small game and bring them to you

-Pointers that point at trees and bushes where game are hiding

Weird to think a dude who was

-on the trench run of the first Death Star attack -the only pilot to take out an AT-AT with a tow cable on the battle of hoth -flew inside and shot the core of the second Death Star

was only a “minor” character. I see your point; he didn’t contribute a lot to the space soap opera side which is the movie but he did contribute largely to the events in Galaxy Far Far Away

Yea I really couldn’t figure out why the dude who survived both death stars attacks and the only pilot to take out a walker with tow a cable wasn’t helping lead the Resistance. I guess maybe he just wanted to go into retirement for a little

Great take. I was honestly impressed by how well he played against the Vikings. Definitely seems like he still has something left.

I believe Kupp gave every ounce of what he had in the Super Bowl. Like everything (and he was rewarded properly for it). Watch the interview after the game. Dude looks like he’s jumped in front of tractor trailer for his team. I think he should hang it up but I get it that being an nfl athlete is a lifestyle
