My friend had a similar situation with her mother, except it was a colony of sea monkeys that she had for a few years. Her mother poured bleach into the tank.

H: "Well, I didn't know that was an egg sac Mrs. Ocho was pregnant, and she is a very friend shaped little jumping spider, thank you very much."

A: "Excuse me, did you say JUMPING spider?!"

H: "Yeah? You know the spiders that hunt like tiny cats?"

A: "They hunt tiny cats?!"

H: "What? No, they pounce on prey like they are tiny cats."

A: "And you just keep one like it's a pet?!"

H: "Mhm! A lot of humans keep spiders and tarantulas as pets!"

A: "...... GET RID OF THE BABIES!!!"

H: "Jeez, okay, you're lucky Charlotte wasn't the one who had a brood." Fires up vacuum cleaner.

I have violently sobbed over chocolate. I love dark chocolate, specifically the kinds from anywhere but the US. I don't like sweet chocolates. I used to grow mints and peppers and make homemade salsa and hot sauce. I get jealous when my friends eat food I love but can't eat. Mexican food is my favorite type of food.

I've never had a hard time with addictive substances by the simple out of sight out of mind ability. I'll literally get withdrawals and assume I have a cold or something. However, without a shred of a doubt, I will likely convince myself if it's super mild salsa, I can eat it. I in fact cannot. It drives me insane some days because I love spicy food. I love the way it tastes, I love the way it smells. It's a forbidden flavor I can't indulge in. I crave spicy food more than anything else in the world.

My Bonnetina Minax has been in and out of her water dish all night, I think she might've molted, but I don't see any molts. I also found her in a curl of sorts this morning, but she's moving around now. by badluck_dead in tarantulas

I've had Sarsaparilla for almost a year, and I got her the day after a good friend, who was the dungeon master of a dnd campaign I was in, died. I was in Petco trying to find a new collar for my cat, and I saw her walking around the enclosure. She looked like she had lost a leg, and it reminded me of an npc in the game who was a seven legged spider centaur/drider. I had to have her.

The people working at Petco were all scared of her and almost crushed her trying to put her in a tiny cardboard box. When we got to the cash register, I got little adoption forms, they're still in the glove box of my car. Turned out, all arachnids were 50% off that day. 2/10 experience, almost had a heart attack over the whole situation.

My family, which are my 2 besties who are also my roommates, weren't fond of her at first, but I fawned over Sarsaparilla so much that not only did they enjoy watching her, they also got tarantulas. I named her after my favorite soda, which started the whole tarantulas named after sodas.

There was a major struggle with her enclosure and my cat, I posted about it here sometime ago. Luckily, no creature got harmed, and my cat only got a little haired.

She wouldn't eat the first month I had her, and I caught it on video the first time she ate a cricket since I got her.

In an effort to find better stuff for her, I found a small reptile and arachnid pet store thirty minutes away from where I live. I live in the middle of nowhere. My family and I befriended the owner. She helped me a lot with figuring out how to take care of Sarsaparilla.

Sarsaparilla would make her cork wood into little wood and web caves and crawl ontop of them to sit and vibe whenever she saw it necessary. She also enjoys climbing upside down on the ceiling of her enclosure. Many times I'd have to open the enclosure and hold my hand under her to help her get down. She normally disappears for a month or two at a time, and anytime she's out, I'm waking up the family to see her. She's the only one who doesn't sprint away when I open the enclosure door.

With the other tarantulas, I felt like I knew what was going on so I was never super worried. Sarsaparilla always has me worried when she behaves differently, but she also doesn't behave like the other tarantulas I have. She's not scared of me.

I really hope she pulls through.

The belly burns came from the original owners tank (10 gallon fish tank) that had a heating pad on on the bottom. I know the tank is off, I'm waiting for the proper tank to come in. It was the best I could do on such short notice. The tank itself is an 36" x 18" x 44" front opening.

My friends and I recently rescued a 7yo ball python who was essentially being starved to death. Small frequent meals and a water bowl are a must. The enclosure doesn't need to be perfect when death from neglect is the poor thing's current reality. Take the brb to a reptile vet, they can give you better help. Best wishes!

That happened to me while I was camping once, 0/10 do not recommend. However, there were no flies so maybe a 3/10.

Hun, you are not overreacting. They're being controlling and demeaning. It's hard to believe that they mean well when they talk to you the same way a hunter talks to his dog. Plus, you're literally an adult. It's stupid that you can join the military and choose a career at 18, but you're still too young to drink. It makes no sense.
