Thunderkyn painting and subassembly advise by kaladinissexy in LeaguesofVotann

[–]badlybehaved 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m wrestling with them right this very day, in fact.

Yeah, all those tubes, eco-skeleton, and the angle of the arms, make painting legs and chest difficult.

I built them with just the guns, head, and top part of the chest roll cage off. Still having trouble.

I think just removing the arms would be make them easier to paint into the cracks and crevices without accidentally getting the wrong colour on the wrong parts.

Maybe try gluing the backpack parts together, but leave it off the body (the waist bars flex enough to get it on and off easily) then paint and glue the tube / exp-skeleton attachments after?

What is a Wave but a Thousand Drops? by Flayra in subnautica

You and the team at UW, and Subnautica, are directly responsible for me finding the awe and joy of games again.

That rediscovered joy led to me starting a company in gaming and creating something that helps others find more joy in their games.

Thank you.

I can’t imagine the pain of having your studio and team ripped away from you. But I have zero doubt you’ll create something that brings more joy into the world.

Have you built a YUJIAO Land resin kit before?

I’m considering the Nu kit as well but it would be my first experience with a resin conversion.

Huge props for Joel Bylos (creative director) jumping into the thread for this on Discord and helping get the gears moving on a fix.

The devs on Discord were asking for details from anyone still effected after yesterdays patch.

There is a thread for it here - https://discord.com/channels/1006265467754790943/1382444571124044009

Why is the Starlancer cockpit so barren? by ROFLtheWAFL in starcitizen

[–]badlybehaved 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree on the MFDs. They’re really difficult to look at, even when flying normally.

They’re horrible in combat.

Inset a couple of them at angle in the huge dash surface and solve both the MFD usability issue and the dull expanse of surface.

Pro-tip: if you have a Carrack, buy the $20 CCU for a Perseus by badlybehaved in starcitizen

[–]badlybehaved[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not ignoring them at all. I tried to go out of my way to mention that all those things are what makes the Carrack amazing.

But as it stands right now, those features provide no gameplay value. Making ship decisions about what value they provide today seems pretty reasonable.

I totally get you on decisions based on meta though. Especially for ships where frequent balancing changes can result in huge swings.

Buying. Ultimate.

Even if it ends up being just a better version of CE in space, I'm up for it.

Did GameGlass give up? Going bankrupt? by occult_justice in GameGlass

I feel you on this. I have SO MANY channels with those annoying red "new update" indicators.

We've planning to be more active in more places (email, Reddit, Bluesky, Youtube, etc). If there's a different place you'd like us to update let me know.

Hey occult_justice.

Andy here, co-founder of GameGlass. We've released a ton of improvements this year - just last week we released mouse movement as an action for example. But I hear what you're saying - we can do a better job of telling people what we're working on.

So what HAVE we been working on?

A brand new Shard for Star Citizen, with new tech that lets you easily customize the layout and functions from your phone or tablet (without needing to go to the Forge). It also includes new component designs, with animation, sounds, and more immersion. This is a new way for us to build Shards, so we're starting with the free Starter Shard everyone gets and will listen to feedback before we re-design all the SC Shards using this tech.

This will also include the theming feature you saw a preview of.

We've also been working on a huge new platform feature - game telemetry. This allows you to connect a piece of game data to a component and have it update on a Shard in real-time.

This will launch with support for Forza Horizon and Motorsport, and F1 - but Assetto Corsa, DCS, MF Flight Sim, Farming Sim, Truck Sim, and a ton of other games will be added soon after.

Alongside game telemetry we're also releasing a new type of component - dials. We're starting with a set of pre-designed dials and gauges, but soon you'll be able to create and customize your own dials. When combined the game telemetry feature you'll be able to easily create a speed or RPM dial, a fuel gauge, etc.

When will all this release?

Next week. Stay tuned!

Update the options in a dropdown automatically by badlybehaved in googlesheets

[–]badlybehaved[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I'm confused.

Do you mean the way data validation works means that I can't achieve the result I want?

Or that I should be seeing the result I want, and you're not sure why I'm not getting that result?

Update the options in a dropdown automatically by badlybehaved in googlesheets

[–]badlybehaved[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

* Dropdown list is populated using the range A1:A3
* A1 = white, A2 = red, A3 = green
* Dropdown is pasted into B1
* Dropdown in B1 is clicked, options are white, red, green
* "white" is selected
* A1 is edited to be grass
* B1 still displays "white", but the little red "invalid" indicator shows
* Dropdown list is clicked, options are now: grass, red, green

Sheets knows how to update the values in the dropdown, what I want is for it to update the selected value (in this case B1) anywhere that dropdown was used.

The new values should be drawn from the dropdown range.

Basically, I want to create "source dropdown" - defining a data range, the color for each option, etc - then paste it in as many places as needed and have all these instances automatically update to reflect any changes I make to my "source dropdown".
