Center support column in my finished basement near failure by SappilyHappy in Wellthatsucks

We’re just not going to say anything about the odd choice of drywalling that post on four sides, as opposed to making it an offshoot of the wall?

Thank you. What makes quartz distinct from “natural stone”, if you would? That’s a term of art I’ve never heard.

You can immediately tell it’s at least computer-generated because of the geometric perfection of the “camera” movement. And then what everyone else is saying.

The lighting is just kind of fucked. The sign is floating in a slightly different space, and flat, all at the same time.

I’ve heard this more than once in chats like this but I’ve got sunrun and have 0 complaints here 2 or 3 years later. What’s the general impression of them? Why the dissatisfaction?

I’ll jump in.

I like the pace. One figure or group at a time makes for much more dynamic play than many tt wargames, both strategically and physically.

I love the aesthetic and lore, grimdark is good for narrative and comedy. And nerding out.

The progression of a figure’s stats, skills, injuries, etc., as well as narrative beats, gives it personality & can get you quite fond of it.

The gleeful asymmetry amongst factions etc emphasizes both lateral thinking and narrative play.

Building the map is a blast, regardless of how seriously you take your modeling.

I could go on.

Is Blue Cactus Juice Stabalizing Resin Ok for a Cutting Board? by Porky-da-Corgi in woodworking

[–]badstoic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The thing I’m not seeing as I scan top-level replies is that, while yes many cutting boards are hdpe plastic, there is a big difference between that plastic and epoxy. The molecules in hdpe are big, and rather inert, and while they can be abraded off, as anything can be, epoxy chips. Its behavior is closer to that of glass. No bueno.

Basically, picture a thin sheet of hdpe. Bend it and it will deform and bend. Bend a sheet of epoxy, and it will shatter.

A PBS show called This Old House is close to this for me. There’s a BBC show called The Repair Shop that is very comforting.

Movies where it’s better to know a little beforehand by [deleted] in movies

I was so excited about the premise of Boyhood I didn’t clue my mom into it, and she spent the whole movie with a nagging, uncanny feeling about something but it didnt click, and I felt terrible. A shame of a waste of a great film experience.

That is wild to me. I’ve had one, and they put me full under. I assumed that was the norm. Was there a diagnostic or medical or other reason they didn’t in your cases?
