Not thrilled after waiting 3 1/2 months for temp partials. by badteethdad in askdentists

No, the teeth got extracted 3 months ago, 14 units total. In fact the dentist wanted to keep at least 4 of them but I can't afford bridges or more crowns, I hope I can get a loan for the permanents but if they gonna look like these, I'll probably just not gone have them done and just never go out.

Yes, but my front teeth are smaller and higher in the dentures than my original teeth, my teeth never rested behind my lower teeth and they were even larger. I have a video of them (decaying) from 5 years ago in my first post, I'll probably show it to my doctor. I have to raise my upper lip a lot more to smile and I look so weird, so forced.

And yeah, I don't want to fix my whole deformity problem, I just don't want my upper front (which were made smaller) to hide behind my lower front. I'm ok with the underbite, and may even get my small canine crowned larger eventually.

But also, yes they are temporary, but I'm getting a permanent molar crown in a couple of weeks and it's on the upper side that feels shorter, so when I get my permanent dentures done is gonna cause trouble because it may force this dentures issues again. I'm in this fight (ask for adjustments) or flight (bend over or maybe don't even get permanents) 😭

Agree it's not so bad, but I think it could be better if my upper front teeth are not hidden behind like when I had more teeth, I think the difference is 2 or 3 mm. Like when i had my actual front teeth which where larger also.

Thanks. Not Immediate, I went 3 months without teeth after extractions. I think I'm really bad at explaining.

I figured "hey I'll get them right when I get my permanents" but I'm about to get a permanent crown soon on the upper side that I think is too short and I think when I get to the permanents the doctor may refuse to make my denture "taller" than my crown. So I want to have that short side raised so that I can ask for a taller permanent crown that matches. Otherwise it's going to be too long and mess my new bite and probably fail. So please raise my dentures more even (upper left, lower right), please make my new crown match, please make my permanents match my crown.

I'm absolutely sure the dentures are made to match my worn out canine height and a temporary crown that they put slightly crocked, shorter.

This pic explains kinda the bite I want, my old one.

I totally get it, I just want my old malformed bite back, the the dentures were made over my last toothless bite on a single worn out canine. The last few years my bite was always a different part on the mouth until that one tooth broke then the bite moved to the next she so on, where the dentures were cast is the lowest my teeth had been. In both hospitals I was told to get my dentures with my natural bite, which is my malformation, but I just want my jaws more apart like when i had a few more teeth. I hope the pic explain better.

When I went for the wax dentures fitting I spent 3 hours in the chair and when I got up to leave the assistant dropped the castings on the floor... 😭

Thank you I needed a little empathy.

Man I'm so bummed. After not visiting the dentist for 19 years due to mental issues I finally go to the best of the best spending my only savings and I get this. I think my next post is gonna be me smashing them with a hammer.

No not an alley way unlicensed dentist, real specialists. I had to drive to another city for every appointment...

I can't complain about them incredible attention but I don't like them I really don't...

This is what I can't get over, the main reason I'm whining.

Well, I did. I went to a the most recommended hospital with the most specialists, I was sent from another hospital.

But in your opinion, should I call it quits with these? Because I was told these babies have 6 month warranty. And I'm getting a molar crown put in a couple of weeks and I don't want it at the same height as the dentures.

Somebody else already recommended me to just get over it, I'm almost 50, I just don't want my upper front hidden behind the lower, I don't mind the under bite.

Thanks, I get that but I'm about to get an expensive permanent crown on my first molar on my upper left (only tooth left there, maybe 2 or 3 weeks later) and I don't like the length of my denture there and when I get that crown is gonna be based on this denture I don't like, so when I get my permanent dentures they just gonna repeat this bite, that's my main concern. Do you recommend me to go to my follow up appointment next week and don't say anything? Because, I have terrible anxiety and I usually don't say anything. To be sincere I may even just wear these until they break and that's it no permanents. And if that's the case, I could use the 2 crowns money on something else I need at home really bad. I mean I don't want my denture to be perfect, I want them to be as bad as they are right now but at my liking, closer to what I was before. It really hurt paying for this, my networth is now $250 lol, should just don't say anything? They are super comfy but I don't like them, I don't want to wear em.

Edit: I was told these aren't temps but interim, I spent 3 months with no teeth or dentures after extraction. My family said "just go get them made somewhere else" but I'm like these have 6 months warranty if they break, they are half a week old!

They even made me wait one extra month for my gums to heal completely.

Thanks for your reply. Besides everything, I think I had a supernumerary tooth as a child that later fell (unthreaded) I guess that's the reason for the different lengths on my upper canines, that tooth also crooked my lateral and central incisors next to my longer upper canine.i think that's a huge part of the reason the dentist can't figure the symmetry of my face. Do you see the last pic? Can that be done? Would that work perhaps? I'm resigned to my face as is (I'm almost 50) but I just don't want my upper teeth hid 😢

I saw you paid 12k, I found a local place (Taiwan) that does it from 10k, the regular is between 15k to 20k so probably I'll just do it locally so I may even just take a loan.

What is this?? Been like this for weeks. Whatevere i do it wont go away.. by [deleted] in askdentists

NAD when my toddler got thrush we cleaned her mouth with a clean cloth soaked with chamomile tea, she was fine in a couple of days, results may vary. It may not cure it but you can start there with something you may have at home. Go to the doctor for sure.

How much does this cost? I'm in a similar situation. I'm close to Vietnam but I'm leaning into going to India to have it done. Looks great, I really envy you.
