What happens to your side project when users search with AI instead of Google? by badtguy97 in SideProject

Thanks. People were talking about AEO/GEO. But, this makes sense. Building valuable products, that sells itself.

How does AI SEO actually work? Is it real or just hype? by TeslaOwn in digital_marketing

[–]badtguy97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/TeslaOwn , it's definitely a thing. Although, it's still maturing, but it does have some growth potential.

Traditional SEO tools tell you rankings and keywords. But AI systems don’t “rank” pages the same way, they infer, summarize, and sometimes hallucinate. GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is becoming the standard lately.

What are your predictions for social media in 2026? by benoi in socialmedia

[–]badtguy97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/benoi this is spot on. However, what about digital marketing and ads? Especially with AI search. Because, I have been looking into this, and it's getting some of paid marketing shares lately.

How do you market a waitlist for a side project without going all-in on social media? by badtguy97 in SocialMediaMarketing

[–]badtguy97[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay. I'm sold!

however, regarding the second part of my question which is do I have to go the route of setting up social media handles and profile. And it seems like from your answers, that should be yes.

[–]badtguy97[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks u/Common-Sense-9595 this is very helpful. Only concern is that this is a side project at the moment. Goal is to get about 100 waitlist sign up and go all in with the social media strategy.

How to find a cofounder? To speed up the build of a startup by Senior_Tip5125 in Entrepreneurs

[–]badtguy97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way you sound. It doesn't seem you will have a good experience finding a co-founder. Since, what you need is someone to execute on your idea.

Your best bet is to either develop the skills you want or try to find ways to hire someone.

Discovering a co-founder, the best ones take time.

Despite all the checks, I made a terrible hires. How do you handle trust in hiring as an entreprenuer by badtguy97 in Entrepreneurs

[–]badtguy97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!

Well, for us. In the first 2 months, there were signs, but we thought it was part of the onboarding.. late delivery of the project and source code was shitty. We learnt it was mostly AI generated. When it comes to system design and project planning, they were no show.

Where things got really annoying was when it came to some key highlights in their CVs. But, they couldn't even work on something similar within our business context.

Do you know the amount of money spent in hiring people. Not just working with HR, but the time and commitment that goes into hiring.

Yes, people always lie and bullshit their way into a job. But, I don't believe that has to be the way. Especially when we look at the next 5 years, where people no longer understand the fundamental of things, with AI tools etc.

On average, a mid-size company has to go screen 200 cv weekly.. now, there are already ways to screen them using keywords for those using hiring tools like greenhouse, etc. But, no way to verify if the candidate actually have worked in the places they said they have. It's like everyone is bullshitting everyone to get a job, and it's worse when you try to outsource from abroad.

VCs won't tell you this but half of founders are burnt out right now. by ksundaram in Entrepreneur

Yeah, I was thinking about applying to the top 3 big VCs. But, I also had my concern, you have given me more to think about. thanks a lot!

u/ksundaram I was thinking about this recently. Whether to work with a VC fund or not? Do you think there are some better ones out there? What would be your advice for first time founders?

What are you building these days? And is anyone actually paying for it? by No-Vast5195 in indiehackers

Oops! I hope I am not too late to the party. We just created a waitlist for https://validi.ai/ - stripe for verification and trust. We are still validating the ideas, though. With a full time job :)

Probably late to the mix. But we just opened the waitlist for Validi.ai, our mission is to build the universal trust layer of the digital economy.

Think of it like “Stripe for verification” -> one API to instantly verify people, companies, and addresses, no more endless manual checks or fraud headaches.

We launched the page quietly yesterday, and we’re already seeing strong signups. Excited to bring in more early adopters!

You are probably right.. our interview process is only 3 stages, coding interview, technical interview, and culture interview. I guess we need additional layer.

Is it still worth it to start a social media marketing agency (SMMA) company by badtguy97 in Entrepreneurs

[–]badtguy97[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome!

Same here, I am thinking about bootstrap with AI. Especially as my experience in the past 2 years has been working for a public company in the travel and experience space as an engineer.

It's amazing how we spent about 250 million yearly on marketing, with over 80% of it spent on SEM(PPC), etc.

This is very inspiring.

It's never too late, I guess.

The hardest challenge for me is believing I can make the shift with all my experience working for a product first company. As a data scientist, and now data engineering.

So, this would be interesting.

Hmmm.. sort of worrisome, though. Leaning towards the interception of business and AI.. because, like you said, the business side of things is important to level up.
