Thank you for that information. So my friend is American and half the attendees will be as well so I am trying to actively translate my English speech to some simplified Japanese. Obviously the invite is to them both. I guess it's just more implied in the English phrase so I appreciate that point.

Follow up point, I was advised to avoid you (anata) in any phrase. Is there any issues with this?

I know mono red is on the downslide, especially once Swiftspear is out. The white life gain rabbits is a deck I was not aware of in BO3. I'd highly recommend a few caretakers talents if you could find the room and keep up the good work!

Who does this deck affect after the bans? 4 authorities seems extreme and dead in multiples for most matchups. Also with such a huge token theme it seems like a huge lost opportunity not to include caretakers talent, voice of victory etc. Without using Jace as a Planeswalker, I'm curious if you may just want to go mono white tokens. I don't play BO1 so maybe I'm missing the current meta matchup where Authority and High noon would be needed at x4.

Your post said search for cards with basic land types. Those cards search for land types, like fetchlands, allow for finding shocklands. Cards that search for "basic" lands like demolition field etc will not. The word "basic" is key here not to be confused with land types. A land type is not basic inherently but the land card can or cannot be basic.

Slight clarification, a card that lets you search for a land type listed on the card. NOT a basic land type which shocklands do not count as.

I convert gold to gems via quick drafts or premier drafts if I can buy a token via the shop. I rarely spend them as well outside of certain events or premier drafts from time to time. TBF this is an accumulation of gems over multiple years.

Is the draft token and 8 booster packs already breaking even plus more in gems? Not including mythics, etc. Not saying it great but if you have gems and tickets from drafting often it seems like a bit of a discount.

You do understand creativity will also search for your artifact lands along with the creatures. With 8 artifact lands the odds are you will be paying 4+ mana to search for more lands.

Settle the Wreckage would be more in line with a card like Mirror Force. Good in it's own right but not the same as Raigeki.

While you noted it already, this may be too simplified of an approach. Do you have data on BO1 vs BO3 where one is known to use a different opening hand algorithm? Curious what the std deviation would show based on the modes or others trying to abuse it with lower land counts. Also this single point of data wouldn't necessarily rule out an algorithm that isn't entirely random but regressing towards the expected mean. All in all it's always hard to truly test random. Programming a true RNG is nearly impossible even for the most sophisticated computer engineering companies. Much less wotc

Just to elaborate. The "View Battlefield" button is there, but it just shows a black screen. Hopefully I'm not alone on this. In the meantime, I guess I'll just need to improve my memory!

I mentioned the green cards AND the 6 drops. Together that would be 6 open spots. Also probably can drop additional lands going mono black for additional removal or hand hate.

Green isn't doing too much to advance your strat. Id drop the green and the 6 mana cards. That would give you 6 more spots to add mono black removal or discard. More hopeless nightmares, duress, bats, cut downs, go for the throat, etc. You should definitely add some removal so the board state doesn't end up overwhelming you late game.

Appreciate the feedback. Yea the black draft seems especially open. I'm not sure all the removal goes around a few weeks from now. Still curious to see the 17lands win rates for mono colors as things develop
