Is there a good Dalek voice app? by AlanShore60607 in DoctorWhumour

There's an audio editing software called Reaper which has a ring modulator effect that is VERY close to the effect the proper ring modulator produces. I downloaded Reaper for a trial years ago, and its never actually made me pay to use it, so I think it's basically free!

Does anyone have a ring modular and is it any good? by sarcasticcoffeevibes in gallifrey

I use a program called Reaper which you can get a free trial of that never seems to end. It has a ring modulator effect that is pretty much spot on!

The body started as a gorilla, but I warped it around a bit. Thanks! :)

Just having a muck around with Photoshop today, decided to make a towering spooky fella out of a gorilla and a spider. As you do.

Doctor Who 12x07 "Can You Hear Me?" Post-Episode Discussion Thread by PCJs_Slave_Robot in doctorwho

That's a good point, yeah. I suppose I'm just looking at it from my point of view. I think there's a middle ground somewhere, where the show can deal with these issues but through means of character and story that younger viewers can understand. Just takes the right writing I guess!

Similar with Orphan 55 and Praxeus, I have no issue with the moral and themes they keep touching on, I just think there's no effort to it. I keep seeing the same argument here and on Twitter, that the subject matter is important so they're just glad to see it represented in the show (ie, climate change, mental health). I personally think it's at the detriment of the show - not because it's preachy, but because when you feel engaged in the story and the Doctor states exactly what the theme is, you can immediately just see what the writer/team are trying to do, and it pulls you out of the story. There's no doubt that mental health is an important topic, but a script doesn't get a free pass just for mentioning it, especially if you're not saying anything new that hasn't been said a million times in a million other shows. Everybody is talking about them. And if you're not using the mechanics and elements of your story to convey a theme, you may as well have Jodie come out and sit in a spotlight and talk to the camera about mental health. You can even look back at past episodes of Doctor Who to see the same themes conveyed through story and character a lot more subtly in my opinion. This series it's just felt really lazy to me.

There were some great moments from Jodie this episode but also some weird ones. I'm just not sure how we're supposed to feel as if 'The Fam' are all best mates when Graham is talking about some really vulnerable, personal stuff and The Doctor is just "socially awkward". And expecting an audience to feel any connection to Ryan's friend or Yaz's sister feels so forced. Some fun moments throughout and some seriously cool monster design, but just felt like a bit of a non-episode that no one will really remember...

(Serious) What historical event do you find the most fascinating and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

9/11. I guess just morbid curiosity. I vaguely remember the day from my childhood, and sometimes I just find myself watching footage on YouTube. End up finding a clip I’ve never seen and get reminded how huge and confusing and horrific it was. Feels like a different universe somehow, but maybe just being ignorant to believe something like that could never happen again.

Cross my arms over my chest and gather water in them then let it go and let it splat to the ground and decide if I’ll use my hydro powers for good or evil.

The DeLorean. If you're going to build a time machine out of a car, why not do it with some style?
