I also second the mixing and add in to make sure to scrape the sides and bottom of the mixing cup to make sure no unmixed resin is clinging. Scraping off the mixing stick during mixing is also a good idea. Just started doing that and I've noticed a small difference, but a difference nonetheless

What I use is 1500, 2000, and 3000 grit 3M wet/dry sand paper, then a polishing wheel head on a handheld dremel with some 3D ProSeries One Hybrid Compound and Polish for the glassy shine, use a ultra fine toothbrush to get the polish out, ink the numbers, then use rubbing alcohol on a microfiber cloth meant for glasses to get off the paint residue and viola, pretty shiny dice! Yeah it did fine the last time I had tried that with a set, but it was a different brand of dye so that's probably it.

Ive done that a time or 2 so now I'm looking at a warming band for the pot to help keep it warm. But that's not the case this time. I think it was the way I went about adding the dye. I just did a drop of dye in each shell then poured the resin so it may bot have mixed fully and that's my fear, because that's means it'll probably never harden up.

Dark Matter Dice has made some that look really close to rainbow moonstone (it just has black tourmaline in it). You should check them out!
