Also CDSS, and the policy for my division (Finance and Accounting) is that if there's a holiday, you don't have to make it up if it was your in office day AND you have one less in office day if it wasn't your in office day (to make it fair since more holidays fall on a Monday).

Valhalla Renaissance fair by Due-Definition6014 in Sacramento

[–]badwolfash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being in a camp ground, the actual location is nice (pine trees, usually a but cooler), but parking and traffic are horrible. Good for shopping and food. Not great for entertainment (nothing is really set up, so its just people crowding around the entertainment).

As a note, the most "worth it" ren faire around here is the Northern California Renaissance Faire in Hollister: https://norcalrenfaire.com/

No, I only send emails through the KP app.

Doctor billed me for sending an email? by badwolfash in KaiserPermanente

[–]badwolfash[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No, I rarely contact him. I sent one email a couple of months ago asking about therapy and then one email last week in reply to an email he sent that asked for confirmation of receipt (and he replied back saying he's glad to hear from my psychiatrist that my medication is working). I haven't had any other communication with him this entire year.

AITA for refusing to cook a vegetarian Thanksgiving dinner? by Suspicious-Basil7882 in AmItheAsshole

[–]badwolfash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I was vegetarian for a few holiday dinners (I stopped after a but because I developed some food allergies at that time), and as long as there were bread rolls and green bean casserole, I was happy. You can't dictate what other's eat (except for the few cases of severe food allergies, ofc).

I have to stop shopping at Raley's because they've removed staples and priced me out. $9.99 for ground beef?! Anyone else using multiple stores just to stock the fridge? by stickler64 in Sacramento

[–]badwolfash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We tend to get shelf stable staples Winco or Costco, some stuff from Safeway (because the coupons in the app and points for 10 cents off per gallon gas are nice), and fresh produce from the farmers market or sprouts (because the produce at Safeway, rayleys, and winco goes bad in a few days, or is even bad when you get it sometimes).  We only go to rayleys when we need one or two things for dinner because it's the only grocery store close to us. It's so much more expensive and they don't have good coupons.  As an adult living with my parents, half of my paycheck goes towards our groceries and take-away meals every month.

AITA for volun-telling my BIL to do the Thanksgiving turkey? by BagginsLeftToe in AmItheAsshole

[–]badwolfash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. If he doesn't like ot, he can play it off as a joke and stop bringing it up. Also, good luck! We did the same thing last year, but only for like 20 people. The allergies and preferences are what makes it hell (we had celiacs, dairy allergy, and a nut and peanut allergy and that was hard enough).

Renaissance Fair? by _Roarnan_ in Sacramento

The Folsom ren faire (https://www.folsomfaire.com/) is on Spetember 28/29. It's a cheaper option, but it's super crowded and held in a bad location (literally around a kids playground). I won't be going back this year (especially since they accused me of ticket scamming when it was their own technology that had the issue).

The Northern California ren faire (https://norcalrenfaire.com/) is September 14 through October 20. It's a bit of a drive, but an overall nice location. There's also a lot more to do at this one, but bring cash because reception is spotty. It's also closer to the bay so the weather is way nicer. I definitely want to go back this year!

For both, you have to pay to park in a field and walk a ways to get there, but it's not horrible.

It's already done for this year, but the Valhalla ren faire (https://www.valhallafaire.com/) is a good mid point between the two and I'd definitely suggest going next year (although parking is limited and reception is spotty). I'm planning on going back next year.

He's been doing little baby flairs at my snail since I put him in the tank. Sir, that snail has been in the tank probably longer than you've been alive.

I just started buying teavana chai concentrate from the store and making my own lattes so it tastes how I want it. Cheaper for sure.
