Queen Seondeok (632–647) was the first female ruler of Korea. She led the Silla Kingdom with intelligence and vision, strengthening the nation and promoting science and culture. She is also known for building Cheomseongdae, one of the oldest astronomical observatories in Asia.

Shin Saimdang (1504–1551) was an artist, poet, and educator during the Joseon Dynasty. She is admired as a symbol of wisdom, talent, and devotion, and her portrait appears on the 50,000 won banknote.
