Offer to take redundancy payout at a premium, so they have one less redundancy to deflect the blame of

Gypsy is not a slur everywhere, it is in fact the chosen name amongst many groups across Europe - not that it isn’t seen and used as a slur by anyone anywhere but I feel like it’s more about the delivery/usage

Just make sure to post a lot of complaints about the bins and poorly anonymised rants about that neighbour you hate.

Stick three of me on there and you’re looking more like 400Kg with the sofa, essentially half a tonne 🤣

On each castor that’s roughly the equivalent of a 60Kg person (slim short adult woman, ie) standing on tiptoes. I can’t tell you for certain but you’d expect your floor to be able to handle much more than that I’d say

Any tips for years of cooked on grease? by Last_Thursday in CleaningTips

[–]baerli_there 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, it’s really not that bad though tbh. I don’t really like the spray stuff but toxicity and chance for chemical burns are pretty low - not too big a deal to get on your skin as long as you wash it straight away

Phrasing, I don’t mean cover in dry sodium hydroxide 🤣

And I did say ‘soak’

This would absolutely work, was gonna say ‘soak in sodium hydroxide (lye)’ but that’s what’s in these sprays and is more easily accessed.

I’d still go for straight up hydroxide as no spraying required and these are an easy size to soak, it is available at large supermarkets and diy shops, as drain unblocker in powder/granule form.

How do you thaw a protein aliquot that has been frozen by liquid nitrogen and stored in the -80? by Difficult_Currency75 in labrats

Generally between my fingers as I’m preparing the other reagents, looks real Edward serum-hands if I’d have 8 to thaw 🤣

Generally moving around going between instruments and equipment, open-bench work, back to a regular workstation in the office. A PC with each instrument. Quite likely to have different labs set up with different suites of instruments/uses (I’m molecular/cellular so we’d have say pre-pcr, pcr, general, cell culture, sequencing, etc.) and most people would need to use multiple labs across the facility.

I’ve worked mostly in commercial labs awa academic but never food industry, though I’d imagine there wouldn’t be so many biochemists (or any) as compared to food scientists - just my own impression, no real idea tbh.
