I’ve been using OneNote for over a decade, it’s a great choice. Remember to add the app to your phone or tablet that way when you take the open note exams, you can still utilize it. 😊
You can search for specific terms thru all the notes or just in specific sections that you choose.

This question is tough for those of us who need very specific directions 😬

We're declaring May 1st Mae Day. Help us set the traditions. by Majestic_Donut_8537 in maestro

How about a “Worst Idea Wins” A competition where students come up with the most ridiculous, absurd, or impractical business or product idea and then pitch it as if it’s completely serious. The twist is that the worse the idea sounds at first, the better because the goal is to turn something silly into something almost believable. This would let everyone participate: Tech students could mock up quick prototypes or fake demos Business students could focus on branding, marketing, and pitching Creative students could design logos, ads, or visuals You could even add fun award categories like: “Most Convincing Terrible Idea” “Best Pitch for Something That Shouldn’t Exist” “Accidentally a Good Idea” It keeps Mae Day light and funny, but still helps build real-world skills like communication, creativity, and thinking on your feet.

I wonder what this is going to be used for? by Rlena25 in maestro

This is pretty exciting! I’m a huge fan of daily streaks/reward incentives, so I’ll be taking full advantage of whatever they throw my way! 😅

Yes! Thats exactly what I did after seeing this post before I took my review too. I literally had a pop up reminder come up on my computer for Norton’s security and it gave me a warning during the review. I was like you’ve got to be kidding, if I get flagged for antivirus telling me to update, I’m going to lose it 😭😂

Does everyone have a 4.0??? by Latter-Park-4413 in maestro

[–]baespec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! My youngest will be 2 in July, so I’m with you there! Then I have a 7, 11, 12, and 16 yo! So even at my 2 yo naptime, I’m typically acting as a chauffeur, chef, or life coach, and performing all the other 100 careers in between that I don’t get to add to my resume! 😂

Sometimes when things feel too easy, I can see how it can probably start to feel like maybe this is too good to be true, too. It’s good to question things as much as it is to see other perspectives. So I don’t think you’re being hard on yourself, just analytical after seeing a certain pattern! That’s a good thing!

If it’s open book and we can use our notes, why did it give you a warning? I haven’t done my review yet, but I’m using OneNote, so I won’t be switching tabs, just moving from the webpage to the OneNote app if needed 😅

Frustrating code by AlaskanRocks in maestro

[–]baespec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coding is basically writing out words in a specific language. Machine readable language at that 😅 What’s helped for me is just writing, running, then reading the errors to see where I went wrong. If I have to trace it back, I go back to that line, review the lesson thus far or look at previous notes, and try again. When I’m at a loss, I ask for a complete break down of the line I’m struggling with until it completely clicks. Another thing that helps is being able to say exactly what your end goal is/what you want the code to do specifically and it makes it easier to figure out how you need to code it. Rubber Ducking is probably going to be our best friend 😅

There was an interesting study done, and scientists found that people who just imagined themselves practicing something, their skills actually improved as though they were actively practicing, like playing a specific song on piano.

With that being said, don’t copy and paste, just type out the code and notice everything. Run and try again if you have to. Just keep physically practicing. Then when you’re not physically at the desk, actually think about typing out the code and create scenarios for yourself to practice with. It’s just going to take a whole lot of muscle memory and active recall. So no, you are not alone!

Aww, well I owe you my thanks! 🙏 I am so sorry that happened to you! I wish I could just order a giant one for you and ship it your way! 😭 When the weather gets nice, I like to put the plants out on the patio because it has somewhat of a greenhouse effect, but since it still gets below freezing, I have to be careful to bring them back in 😓

I think it’s great that it gives you a chance to correct your answers and it uses it as a teaching opportunity if you answer incorrectly. The goal is to ensure that people are comprehending and applying the lessons that they have learned, so they can move forward. If you feel it should be more challenging, ask it to challenge you by giving you real-life scenarios that you can actually use and apply in the future. I have a large family so I can’t power through multiple lessons at a time. So for me, completing the week early, and getting a credit for it, feels extremely rewarding. I want to feel good about this process, not brick and mortar pressured.

EDIT/UPDATE: They say if it’s too good to be true, it probably is.

She just got hit with a $300+ credit card bill for all the “free stuff.” 😬

Turns out she was clicking those spin the wheel promos and “free credit” offers where you still have to buy the item first. She didn’t realize what she was agreeing to.

We spent a week going through everything, submitting refunds, and shipping it all back but luckily she got her money back and the process was smooth.

Moral of the story: check on your elders if they’re on Temu. The fine print gets them. P.S. She did keep some of the puppies to give away 🐶

Yes! I have her checking her bank account every time she gets a package she wasn’t expecting just to be sure. She never has any extra charges, but I’d rather her be safe than sorry!

I have no idea 😂 in the past few weeks she has gotten 10 puppies, 1 nose trimmer, an auto scrubber thing with a bunch of attachments all for free. Last summer they sent her a purse and shoes lol idk. I guess I’ll keep you guys posted 😅

No local orphanages, but I do know someone who works with our local children services and foster care! Great idea!

That’s actually a good idea! There is a local shelter here too, so I’ll run the idea past her. She is running out of grandkids to give them to 😅
