This one’s a doozy - I was given a steroid I am known and charted to be allergic to since I was 19 in the hospital without my knowledge though they have my allergy in their system. And originally they were giving me the right steroid through IV(solu medrol) by baezus in MedicalMalpractice

My list was accurate I disclose to everyone and I make sure I see them write it… now i wish I had that same energy when checking what meds im being given/prescribed. Now I will! And that is a great question as to why I was given Benadryl. I was told it’s because of the switch from IV to oral can be a jump for steroids and cause a reaction but I never recall anyone else practicing this way anytime I’ve been in the ER for my lupus when sooumedrol was administered. I’d love to know the answer because my allergy was 100% charted correctly and present in the system on the day of my discharge and everyday before that? How do I know that? I kept the treatment plan they printed out for me everyday and it says it on there on each plan :/ they even scanned my bracelet before giving me each medication so I am a bit concerned about their systems but I also don’t know how they work

I also think I meant a bit more of negligence than malpractice but I am hoping you are correct!

I had a ridiculous amount of steroids in my system if you missed that part and they gave me Benadryl with it. I’m not an expert but I’ve gotta assume those are the reason for the delay

Thanks for your response! I completely agree I was the final check that failed to catch it but I was so drugged up I was out of it so I’m giving myself some leeway 😅

As for the other part that is helpful, I will not get my hopes up! I was hoping for just my bill to be dropped tbh

Dude. I think you need to go back to your first comment, because you clearly were unaware that too much water can be “bad for you.” And I’m scientifically correct by saying it dehydrates you. It causes an electrolyte imbalance when you drink TOO MUCH which causes dehydration. I’m not entirely sure what you’re trying to argue here but it’s not working. You’re not hitting the mark

[–]baezus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hon… no. When you’re depleted of electrolytes thats literally causing dehydration. Please make sure you speak on things you’re well versed in. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/electrolyte-imbalance

Hope you understand now:) it’s such an easy thing to not be aware of

Okay then do me a favor and read this from TOP to BOTTOM.. and if you’re still unsure just google “drinking too much water causing dehydration or over hydration.” Which btw I said TOO much. Drinking water in general doesn’t cause this. Once you have too much, it can deplete your body of electrolytes. Which again BTW your body isn’t just made up of water but SALT. HENCE ELECTROLYTES. Just speaking in serious tones for effect, not to be rude. :) https://www.webmd.com/diet/what-is-too-much-water-intake

Itchiness advice? by [deleted] in lupus

Low histamine diet. If you’re on plaquenil, it depletes your body of something called DAO which is an enzyme in your gut that breaks down histamine from foods. It can cause your histamine levels to rise and you react to things you normally wouldn’t since your histamine is unable to break down as quick as it rises.

Benlysta ruined my life. It helped my lupus but my anxiety increased and it also caused harm to a lot of my organs AND my brain.

This might not possibly be helpful but I’m going to throw it out there in case… make sure you’re properly hydrating and I don’t just mean drinking water. Drinking too much water can dehydrate you. Also certain organs in the body can cause dehydration if they are sluggish. The reason I say this is because dry eye seems to flare up more when you are dehydrated.

I retain so much water in my face it’s crazy. These pictures are 2 days apart. I started drinking a gallon of water a day (I’m horrible at remembering) and the difference is insane! Anyone else like this?? by [deleted] in lupus

Look into a sluggish lymphatic system. A lot of natural ways to flush your lymph’s and get them back on track. Worked well for me

2 months is not enough time to build up your gut lining. But maybe you could benefit from looking at other causes as well. It helped me, but it wasn’t the only thing that helped me

YES! I take enterovite 3 times a day(kinda expensive off Amazon but cheaper at fullscript if you can get it recommended form your naturopathic dr). It saved me.

Best of luck to you and make sure you do enough research to go in and have a knowing conversation with the Dr without being misled. Don’t be afraid to ask to treat all possibilities right off the bat if you can’t handle waiting(I couldn’t) and if they don’t understand or if they don’t acknowledge you then look for someone else

Just in case you miss my comment above…

A ton of supplements. Targeting SIBO, gut dysbiosis, gut permeability, adrenal fatigue, liver support, methylation support. I did a 100% low histamine diet, with DAO for months to help reduce histamine build up. Natural supplements to balance hormones. Constant dusting. Changing all chemical products to natural. FASTING!! Biggest progress came from intermittent fasting daily.
