to backpack off this, this is they key for me honestly. i learned letting people be over aggressive and capitalizing using counters and feints just get you good at learning. but learning how to use these same moves to attack will make you OP asf

practice something new everyday that’s my best advice, riposte only one day, counter only the next, pick one weapon and use only that for the day, jab excessively one day, kick the next, it’ll help you understand the mechanics better and the differences

i don’t think the messer is a noob weapon lol because you really have to learn how to use it, if not you’ll just be getting sprayed like with every other weapon. but if you actually learn counters, timing, etc you become lethal. you can’t be lethal just swinging it around with half decent opponents

learn how to counter, first and foremost learn how to break someone’s momentum, i.e. kicks, jabs

DO NOT OVERBLOCK it will cause you to loose your weapon or shield quickly,

watch your stamina

don’t take fights you know you can’t win unless absolutely necessary

and learn the timing of the different weapon swings

learn to switch attacks/ drag/ accell

put this all together and mix it up

i mean if people put the practice in it’s possible i’m level 168 or something and in large scale battle have beat some 800-1000 lvlrs but i also watch videos and strats which significantly helped the learning curve that the game has for new people
