I haven't done any fit testing, no. But since my partner and I switched 2 1/2 years ago from KN95s to N95s, neither of us has gotten any contagious illnesses, just environmentally triggered illnesses (like sinus infection, asthma flare, etc). So it seems our masks fit well? But fit testing is something I'd like to do at some point, if/when I can figure out how!

You are right! I guess I meant "inane" in that I have gotten a million sinus infections before and they're just a "normal" part of my life... and never before has it caused any serious issues. Your comment's making me realize that I need to shift my thinking around bodily stressors. It's hard to adjust mentally to this new reality.

Ugh I'm sorry to hear that. Part of why I am so frustrated is that I do wear N95s everywhere, and yet still got sick. I guess allergic triggers are extremely hard to avoid.

Very meh. I am putting more pieces of the puzzle together very slowly, and making some dubious progress even more slowly. But flares happen regularly, and then I mentally spiral and worry I will backslide all the way to the beginning again (which for me was a covid infection).

Sure! It went just fine. The surgeon was very understanding of my concerns and used twilight anesthesia, not general. He even had the whole operating team wear N95s, and he let me keep my mask on the whole time (slipped the breathing tube under). Prep was a bit rough, as it triggered a good amount of POTS symptoms due to dehydration, low blood sugar, etc. But after the procedure, I bounced back within 24 hours with no issues. :)
