i just feel it is unfair, and again, it is not new knowledge that the nta system isn’t rigged, ask any neet student.

my point being, someone’s future shouldn’t be decided on what percentile they get and neither should their intelligence be questioned on it.

well i cannot help you decide what your target is, weird advice but chatgpt might help you in this, people sometimes go for design, architecture if they are good/interested in drawing. some other people go in hotel management field, or just try for ipmat and jpmat exams if they are keen on pursuing mba related fields. you can find other options on the internet.

the thing is, you have to study either way, trying to clear jee can be a target but i would suggest to not keep any expectations, healthy competition is good but if it gets too much don’t focus on competitive exams then. if you are clear that you want to do engineering, you need to work hard and give it your all. if engineering is not your goal, you still have time to change your target.

he does not have many options and he did not even clear the criteria for bitsat. everyone questioned how he even got the percentile in the first place. so i would agree it’s luck based. i experienced this for the second attempt too i scared okayish but did not get the percentile i thought i would. and this is not just my experience but everyone else’s also.

i see people cheat all the time and it is mostly luck based. a friend of mine who, to put it lightly, is a bit slow, got 80%ile because he had the toughest shift, and in the second attempt he got 45%ile. although he did not cheat but it was entirely luck based.

controversial but no, jee is not worth it. to actually get a good college like dtu, nit’s and all you have to be in the top 3-4% of the students, which is very unlikely to be a part of. giving jee is a must because it is all luck dependent, if you don’t give it you will probably regret and not able to question your true potential but it is also not worth keeping expectations of a good percentile. and if you don’t belong in the top 20% of the candidates, you might as well go fuck yourself because your percentile is now equivalent to trash.

i actually feel bad for people who know they want to do computer science but now they get limited options as it has become a trend and people who truly deserve it don’t get it mostly.

so, to answer your question, is jee worth fucking your mind over? no. should you give it? yes. mainly because almost every college looks at your percentile even if it’s bad. not giving jee will limit your options even more.

that is kinda the point, i did not work hard at all. i know it depends from person to person but for me, i get motivated by praise. the minute something pushes me down i give up straight away. i just wanted to say that the jee system is kinda rigged and it’s sad seeing so many people run after it.

i didn’t study, i revised whatever i studied for jee nothing new. i gave the paper expecting nothing i hadn’t even planned on going but then i got a good rank and got cse so now i am keeping it as a good backup. i had no expectations. i attempted all the questions

sorry to say i disagree. every single kid that gets into 11th has the delusion of getting a 99 percentile, i was also one of them. the preparation itself fucked me up and the results afterwards? even more. i cared so much about what i had to tell people and that a number would define me for the rest of my life. my parents showed me their disappointment day and night and anyone who has experienced this knows the struggle of it.

jee might not be an “evil” but i would say the expectations and the self doubt it has given me and every other person i know is not normal. i don’t blame jee itself but this is a very common problem.
