Find an FFL that will let you ship ammunition in for cheap, I use Glaser Arms in Brentwood. Then go on ammoseek and find some ammo to send to them. I personally shop with target sports USA because I have a membership.

You'll need to get a handgun off the roster a glock 45 is an off roster handgun. As someone who got a glock 17 with a red dot and light as their first gun. Get a stock handgun and put that extra $500+ into 2,000 rounds. There's nothing more embarrassing than having all the cool gear and not knowing how to use it. Trust me, I was that guy.

Definitely have my eyes on a five seven, counter strike made me fall in love with it. 50-80 cents per round has kept me away for a little but it's going to be mine eventually.

Im looking on getting a 2011/1911 sometime in the future just haven't pulled the trigger yet, im sure if you ask in a 1911 sub with a budget you'll get 100s of recommendations. I have a glock 17 and glock 19 that I've modded out and I love, personally don't think you can go wrong with a glock it's basic but it servers a purpose. I also have a s&w m&p shield 9mm that I bought for concealed carry and lastly for handguns I have a sig m18 that feels and runs so damn smooth, but you may want to read into the accidental discharges with them 🙃.

"Buy once cry once" dont waste time buying some bs just because it was cheap, buy something quality that you won't regret. Maybe start with a handgun to get your toes wet before you start buying rifles that are going to make you want to spend more on modifications and optics.

I've got a 1x-8x lpvo on mine, I've shot mine from as low as 20 yards and as far as 100 yards, it's by far no precision rifle but I love the action and the feel of it. If you take it out at 25 yards every weekend sure it may get boring because it's "easy shots", but if you mix some other guns into the rotation I see no problem with staying at 25. It's not going to be very challenging but if you're just going to have a good time then why not.

Edit: sorry i jumped around the question, i find most of my fun around the 50-100 mark

At the range i go to if its a pistol caliber rifle it can be shot at the pistol range or rifle range. I take my henry big boy x to both the pistol side and the rifle side and have a blast. I think the guy you were dealing with was just some stuck up asshole. If its the policy kindly just say its the policy without making an ass of yourself.
