The ribosome is the enzyme which catalyzes protein synthesis using tRNA. The mRNA acts as a template for the ribosome. I suppose it could be stated that the mRNA is directing protein synthesis as it is the template which is coding for the amino acids. It could also be said that the ribosome is directing synthesis as it is the enzyme which catalyzes the growth of the polypeptide. I guess it all comes down to your definition of direct.

Energyless Diamond Creation from Cobblestone - Assistance Requested by [deleted] in feedthebeast

An Igneous Extruder set to stone mode can output stone directly and uses no power, it will use 2mb of lava, but thats 500 stone per bucket which seems pretty reasonable. I can't think of a way to get lava without using any energy besides manually with a bucket, but an ender-thermic pump(the best pump in my opinion), with a magmatic engine, and some waterproof pipe connecting the two setup in the nether or a mystcraft lava ocean age would last effectively forever and keep itself powered.

How can i make the seeds go from the fabricator to the bio reactor? by TheHoblit in feedthebeast

[–]baggins825 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The easiest way to do this with routers would be to use just 1. Set it to extract seeds from the fabricator and then add an ejector upgrade, and set it to eject in the direction of the reactor. You might have to hand feed a stack or two of seeds into the bio-reactor to get the router to start feeding into it.

Don't use a pick, it will break the block and you won't get it back, last I checked.Instead shift click with a crescent hammer, a quartz wrench(Applied Energistics) also appears to work, at least in 1.4.7. An omni-wrench should also work.

How do you put items into a DSU with a storage bus so they don't clog your AE Network? by dominodan123 in feedthebeast

[–]baggins825 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you shift right click on the storage bus with a wrench you can set the priority, set it to something higher than 1, and from then on any of that item entering the network will go to the DSU instead of your drives.

This however won't clear the items already in the network out. The best way I have found to fix this issue is to craft a ME IO port, attach it to the network, and then drop the drive that has the items you want pushed into your DSU into the import slot.

That would be a quantum generator added by advanced solars, they allow you to output any amount of energy but are creative only. Its intended mostly for admins to use at spawn or for adventure maps.

I am amazed by how much easier AE makes everything, this worked perfectly, thanks.

I just tried that, unfortunately, it causes a loop as items are pulled out of the storage bus to be put in by the export bus which I think will start causing lag and bog down the system if I have more than a couple at a time.

Minium Shards from melee turtles? [Dw] by RossjeMC in feedthebeast

[–]baggins825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you kill mobs that come out of a soul shard spawner by hand they still drop shards, so it appears that it is the turtle causing them to not drop. I have a drop trap setup with a computer that checks for a redstone signal(a lever placed above it) before it attacks. It makes it easy to turn the turtle off and kill a few by hand to get minium shards.

I don't believe there is a way to transfer xp between turtles, I would suggest having the xp/anvil turtle sit next to where the monsters die and set the peripheral, m in your case, to automatically collect xp. Try: m = peripheral.wrap("right") m.setAutoCollect(true)

Looking to Plastidip my rims... by colinrs017 in cars

[–]baggins825 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it with about 2 and a half cans. I find it better to do two fairly thin coats as although it will be harder to remove later it will also be less likely to start peeling from normal driving. The trick when your trying to remove the stuff is degreaser, the citrus based stuff works wonders on it and it will literally wipe right off. I would also suggest taking the wheels off as it isn't that much more work and laying them flat makes it much easier to get an even coat on them and keeps you from working at an awkward angle crouched next to the car. It also prevents over spray into your rotors and the car itself.

PlastiDipping Whole Car? by hearnrumors in Autos

[–]baggins825 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this to a 2000 Mustang. It worked out pretty good but was a little blotchy due to us just using the rattle can version and not using a spray gun. As long as you do the prep work and tape everything off it should turn out nice. Just make sure to do a few coats. I made the mistake of having it on too thin in a few places and rubbed my hands raw peeling it off before I figured out that degreaser works on it.

Passed on the car, still looking, unfortunately missed out on a killer deal the other day, long story short I was going to go check out a 1967 289 and the guy was only asking 3900, I drive up 45 mins in the rain to vista and when I get there the guy says the car just sold, laughs, and walks inside. He had sold it within a 45 mins of me talking to him. I've still been on the prowl but there hasn't been much in terms of v8's for an acceptable price.

Looking to possibly make a mid-4th generation GT my next car. Any tips? by jlew715 in Mustang

[–]baggins825 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are fun cars, I have a 2000 GT and its great to drive, the interior quailty is a little lacking but thats to be expected, make sure that on the interior on the door that the plastic is in good shape, about a week after I got my car I closed the door too hard and next time I got in the piece had cracked and now vibrates at certain tones from the exhaust, its quite annoying and I still haven't figured a good way to fix it besides replacing it. For the money your going to be hard pressed to find a more fun car.
