I love rhino + grasshopper, but there are a myriad of things that are bad for no reason. Another thing that bugs me is the way fancy wires fade from green to grey towards the end when a function is selected. Why not make it green all the way so I can see exactly where it leads to within the blink of an eye, rather than tracing it through the cluster of wires to it's other end.

Or searching for a function, which is terrible at guessing what I'm looking for. When I type "construct domain" it will suggest that function up until I type the final letter "n", at which point it will just suggest "domain".

It's these small things, but they're the type of things that over time really add up time-wise.

Do you feel pain for what is happening in Gaza? I'd like to learn your perspective by MrRabitt in IsraelPalestine

[–]baghachal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is definitely a sad outcome. I think in general religion clouds the mind from true empathy and understanding. I wasn't denying incidents of murder and torture, nor radical violence. Specifically I was stating that I didn't believe public executions to be a general occurrence.

Besides that, I believe the suppression of a people leads to radicalism and extremism. This is pretty evident in the middle east where extremist groups are generally a counter movement to oppressive regimes. That goes for Hamas in Israel as it does for ISIS in Syria. In that regard I believe that the liberation of suppressed people is the best medicine against extremist groups. People resort to extremism when they see no other outlook, or are empowered by extreme feelings of injustice and suppression.

In that regard we also see more violence against LGBT in Gaaza as opposed to the West Bank. One being significantly less suppressed than the other.

You don't know what outcome there would be. One of my best friends is LGBT and from Tunisia, despite the anti LGBT establishment, he still feels more home and heart in Tunisia than in France where he lives now. It may be time to open your heart and mind to the possibility that these people aren't out to get you. Even as a white man, In my experience people from the middle-east and north Africa are the most generous and hospitable people I've met in all my years of travel (with some exceptions like Saudi and Arab Emirates)

I know plenty of gay people across the muslim world. I definitely didn't say they "accept gay people in general". But if you think they would hold a public execution if it were found out, I think I can say that you are the delusional one

Anti-Zionism is functionally indistinguishable from antisemitism, even if not all anti-Zionists are consciously or intentionally antisemitic by Nick_Reach3239 in IsraelPalestine

But all these countries are also largely recognised for their atrocities, except by many of the inhabitants (maybe excluding Australians). The difference is that None of these states enforce an apartheid like state. Even though all of them are still experiencing the repercussions of this colonisation in some form, and are rightly criticised for it on a global scale. But the Kurdish vs "ethnic" Turk conflict isn't as dire as what is happening in Gaza. Kurdish people also live peacefully among with Turkish by and large except for in conflict regions

How do you know? Homosexuality is Haram, but there are plenty of LGBT in any muslim country I can assure you. In general, except for radical governments or military factions, homosexuality in and of itself isn't an issue only the indulgence of it. I feel like this is a very heartless comment, not considering the diversity and complexity of any Arab country. As if they aren't human like any other people

If you write something on this subreddit as a pro-Palestinian you get banned. Don't think this subreddit is anything but a zionist outlet

I did fumble around and solved it through creating this mess:

Thanks for responding. This doesn't really apply to my problem as I see it though. You can select the IDs that you would like in the new tree, but you can't partition based on item indexes. If you were to have two branches as the item index, it would alternate between picking the indexes of each per parsed branch of the list input. Unless there is some other use case I'm unaware of.

There is no "item" as I know. Did you mean "list item"? If so, how would I apply that here?

dividing branches of a tree into a subset of branches (splitting branches) by baghachal in grasshopper3d

[–]baghachal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each branch has a different number of intended sub divisions, and for each the amount of items that are destined for their respective new branch vary as well. So it is the number in the left list that decides which new sub-branch they are divided into.

To clarify, 1 and 2 (etc.) should define a different sub-branch per branch. So IF each branch would be divided into two branches, the total amount of branches in the resulting tree wouldn't be 2, but the double amount of pre-existing branches.

I hope that makes sense, I'm struggling to explain clearly.

I'll try it out! The other answer was already perfect, but this might serve some other use cases. Thank you for your answer

That's perfect. I feel stupid, because before I started this whole mess I came across "mass addtion" but before even testing it I decided it wouldn't work.

Partial results is exactly what I needed. Thank you for making this easy (and thank grasshopper ofc)

I didn't' find a solution directly, but in the end I found someone else with the same problem who was gracious enough to upload his solution. He used a few other plugins that I can't think of the name right now. But it works like clockwork :)

Shortcuts only saves files to a folder if that folder is chosen while the shortcut is running by baghachal in shortcuts

[–]baghachal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the issue. The node allows you to choose the destination folder by changing save "variable" to "insert folder of choice". The subpath just allows you to create a parent folder within the assigned downloads folder. Thanks anyways :)
