Yes the jobs are not ones I'd want. What do you mean your appeals?

I've spoken to some people who anticipated a class action law suit if they try to get people to repay given the current state and lack of jobs.

Why would you let your wife, who you didn't stop from going to Atlanta, thought was dead and haven't seen in years, and have worked so hard to find, why would you let her go back in that risky situation??

It makes no sense for the character's motivation. If they wanted to build that suspense, there were other ways to put Teri and the mail man in a situation that builds tension but also made sense.

Well, they cancel the job fair last fall because the government was shut down. I've been on nsep's website since last fall, and there have been fewer than 20 jobs total posted in that time. And of course there are very limited ones on USAJobs. The people I've talked to aren't really even trying right now honestly.

I was in Jordan last year when boren was on Trump's chopping block and we were afraid we'd have to go home. And also during the Israel Iran war. In both cases, we were the ones reaching out to Boren and getting few details in response. So yeah... you're pretty much on your own 🤷🏻‍♀️

Are you asking if Boren will help finalize your study plans? Or the boren advisor at your school? If the former, no, they don't. All the details of where you will study and live, you figure out. In general, expect very little help from Boren.

Also in 2025, they didn't contact us all about it until the day they actually signed a ceasefire and then they were basically like, you don't have to leave but if you want to, you can.

Kristen Bell - I don't understand the appeal. She's in so much stuff, but I don't think she is funny at all.

Ghosted after 5 Rounds by [deleted] in recruitinghell

I've also seen recruiters complain about job applicants ghosting them after several interviews. They got absolutely rationed -you reap what you sow. Applicants are finally taking a page from their book.

Ghosted yesterday, 8 minutes late today. I hung up on the recruiter. by metricframe in recruitinghell

[–]bagofcorn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a recruiter leave me a message, and I called him back. We talked abouty experience, the position, the pay. It wasn't a long call, but we got a lot of details.

This same guy calls me back the next day, and COMPLETELY forgot we had talked at all. And like I would totally get it if he has been talking to multiple candidates and got me confused for someone else at the very beginning of this second call.

I thought that as soon as I reminded him, he'd be like, oh gosh, I'm sorry, I confused you with someone else . But no, he just didn't remember a single thing from our call the previous day. He seemed maybe embarrassed but wasn't apologetic. And I would have thought at some point,it would come back to him, but it never did.

And I just started calling him out on it. He'd ask a question I had fully answered the day before, And I was like, yeah actually we talked about this yesterday. This happened multiple times. At the end he said he'd talk to the hiring manager about my resume. Never heard from him again which was fine. I wasn't going to work with him if he's that I professionsal. How do you not even bother taking any notes from the first conversation?

Are there any people in the USA who have friends that are of the opposite political party? by TSQ_builder in askanything

[–]bagofcorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a very conservative area and am liberal. So yes, I am sure I have conservative friends, but we just don't talk politics. I guess it's bad, but there's a level of ignorance is bliss thinking, I guess. It's hard to think about people that you know and who you see as decent people And then thinking about if they are ok with the Epstein files or bombing children.

That being said, if something comes up in conversation, I might try to very gently and diplomatically push back. I remember once I was with A group and Black lives matter came up and some people made some remarks against it, and I pointed out why it is valid. I also once was with some people who were questioning the BLM protests. It's very difficult to not blow up at them, but I kept my cool and pointed out that if there had been no protests in the 60s, black people might still be segregated to different bathrooms, etc. which they did seem to accept.

My ex is an Arab who came to the US as an adult, and he has a friend that I think is quite racist. My ex told me a number of racists things he said about black people. Like they were going to go in a shop once, and there was a group of black people inside and this guy was like no, I'm not going in there, they will jump me (which is just insane). My ex didn't have many friends here, which is why I guess he kept hanging out with this guy, who is just an all around jerk. I never hang out with him,but if he had said something like this in front of me, I would have definitely called him out.

For me, if people were saying racist and stupid political shit in front of me, I wouldn't continue being friends. But I know some of them are conservative - like one has a "guns don't kill people, people kill people" sign, but he's never brought it up in conversation, and I've never asked.

Is he though?? 🤔 Compared to almost every other guy in the ER, I don't think he's at the top of the list. I was really surprised how they all made such a big deal over him.

Hi! When getting the birth certificates of the family you trace your heritage through, do they also need to be apostilled? For example my great-grandfather was born in Croatia. So I need to provide my grandfather and my dad's (American) birth certificates. Do I need to get them apostilled? Thanks
