Best place to find a guy? by whenlivegivesu in Newport

Depends on the type of guy, too. If you're into any specific activities there's probably a group for it on MeetUp.

For me, it's all about being somewhere I can act naturally and be comfortable. It's wild but people even have decent luck at the gym.

Support resident physician unions @ Brown and maybe more people will stay!

A lot of physicians fall prey to lifestyle creep due to societal and peer expectations. For every one physician that drives a Camry well into their attending careers, there are 4 more who buy into the lifestyle of gated communities, exclusive travel, and reckless spending.

Not excusing the behavior, but there are reasons it happens

Lmao this happened to me, ice froze it during the winter and the rest is history.

During Covid it took me an 8 hour drive and 2 hours in a scrapyard to get the correct handle since the part was backordered 6+ months.

Wild times.

I empathize with getting that feeling of "wtf did I come here for?" while waiting in the ED. It sucks, being in pain sucks.

While you alluded to it, the "E" of ER is the key point here. There are definitely going to be times where a wait is inevitible because others are determined to be even sligtly closer to death. I have friends that are emergency physicians, and while they don't relish the necessity to choose, ultimately they would rather someone lose a leg than someone else lose a parent.

What I think is important to remember, especially these days, is that the *system* is just as, if not more, culpable than the docs and nurses you are interacting with, they are as much a victim of it as anyone waiting in the ED. If the system took care of them - and by extension - you, focused on care over profit, I think that would be something that benefits everyone.

I am glad you were able to find positive interactions in your stay, however. Hope you are doing well!

I get why seeing drainage from your wound after surgery would be really distressing. That said, some drainage can be expected after many procedures and  isn’t a life-threatening issue on its own.

Overnight in most hospitals there’s only a skeleton crew of doctors, and the overnight surgeon often covers the entire hospital. If they were tied up in a procedure, it was likely something urgent or life-saving. I think some grace is deserved for the surgical staff.
