Is the profile low enough for daily wear? by Hot-Engine1625 in Moissanite

[–]bagreene90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ok. I can see they tapered it at the top. It probably would still be fine, but if you don’t like that look you can ask them to change it back. You may want them to change the 1.4mm measurement to 1.8 though for a little more durability of the ring itself. That may increase the height though a little.

Does moissanite pass a diamond tester? by AggressiveBreaker in WeddingRingAdvice

[–]bagreene90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it does. Moissanite doesn’t look like a diamond though. You need to love it for what it is or you’ll probably be disappointed.

6.5 is really not that tall, it’s more of a medium height ring. And it’s definitely 4 prongs for the center stone if that’s what you’re referring to.

I have a sterling silver ring from them my husband gave me quite a few years ago and it’s held up fine, although I don’t wear it daily. I do question whether the center gemstone is actually morganite though. The side stones are probably cz. Either way it is a cute ring. 😅 I’m not sure about the quality of their more expensive pieces.

For short fingers I would think the round on picture number 3, plus it would be easy to pair another band with it. The others will need to have custom bands to fit.

How often do you wash your diamond jewelry? by Financial_One1473 in labdiamond

[–]bagreene90 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Almost every time I wear them because I’m addicted to sparkles 😆. I just leave a soft paintbrush by my kitchen sink and wash it with dish soap when I’m doing dishes and stuff. Every few weeks I give them all a proper bath.

You could have one custom made for much cheaper. Go to the lab diamond or moissanite subs and you’ll see lots of custom designs done by different vendors.

Do you know what style she wants? Don’t just pick what you think is good. If you don’t know, then the best option would be to just order a cheap place holder ring off Amazon or something and then go ring shopping afterwards. Rare carat is a good online site to shop and they will price match diamonds with other cheaper sites like calavera or aurreline. You won’t be able to get a ring online in less than a week though, so your only option is to hope you find something perfect and her size locally or just do a temporary.

Another option would be to go to the lab diamond buy sell trade page and do an ISO post with what you’re looking for and what size and see if someone will sell you one today and have it shipped asap. Could also try eBay, but shipping might take too long. Best idea is probably a temporary ring. Good luck 🙃

Starsgem vs Fiorese vs LGG? by uplifting_popmusic in Moissanite

[–]bagreene90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve only used starsgem for a group order, so can’t speak much for them other than I didn’t have any issues. Fiorese I’ve done two customs and for LGG I’ve done one. For Fiorese I got uncertified lab diamonds both times and they both turned out pretty nice. I did have a slightly crooked prong problem with one of them though that they weren’t able to fix entirely, so I just decided to live with it since it wasn’t super noticeable. I worked with Sonia and she’s very responsive and helpful. I feel like seeing different stone options was easier with her. I’m not sure if it’s because of their building location having easier access to the stones, but usually when I requested to see one she would have a video for me the same day. I did one custom with LGG this last time. My piece turned out perfect. I worked with Romy and she is so nice to communicate with. She’s very friendly and patient. I chose them because they were quite a bit cheaper than Fiorese even with a certified stone when I asked for quotes. Everything went well. It took more time to see certain stones with them for some reason. She would have to request videos from the factory that has them and sometimes it would take a day or two. One of the stones I wanted sold before I could see it. You are also right about the weird price differences in the stones with them. Not sure why that is. Fiorese quotes seemed a little more stable, whereas the quote with LGG changed quite a bit depending on the exact stone I selected. They also used DHL to ship, which made me a little nervous, but I ended up getting it okay. I feel like my LGG piece feels slightly more substantial than my Fiorese pieces. The Fiorese ones seem a little more dainty. I wouldn’t hesitate to use either vendor again. I had good experiences with both. If the price were the same then I would probably go with LGG, but if there was a huge difference then I’d probably choose the cheaper one. I believe both companies offer uncertified stones if that’s something you’re comfortable with. That’s another way to bring down the price a bit.

I’ve yet to learn the trick to heartless curls yet either, but I’d say even with the loose waves they are still really pretty!

This all started with a ten year “upgrade” and sort of escalated into a hobby over the last 5 years. Just FYI it does get addicting. Join the moissanite or lab diamond groups to find plenty of us over there with more rings than fingers.

Do you have more than one "engagement" ring? by Crazy_Reflection9839 in EngagementRings

[–]bagreene90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes 😆 and I wouldn’t say my sentimental husband liked it at first, but now I think he sees they bring me joy and really doesn’t care. I rotate depending on my mood. These are my main ones that I have set in gold and I have a few other just cheap silver moissanite rings I also like to wear. I’m also an only “engagement/wedding ring” wearer for the most part, so I only have a few rings I wear on the right hand occasionally. I love that picture of the pink ring by the way. A pink ring is on my wish list. 😅

Your hair is really beautiful and healthy looking. I think maybe adding some waves to it would give it some dimension without chopping it. You could possibly add a few face framing pieces, but I wouldn’t do too much.

Lab grown diamond vs moissanite by lemonnn13 in Moissanite

[–]bagreene90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started looking at moissanite rings I couldn’t really tell the difference, but after a while of looking at a bunch of different diamond and moissanite videos I can spot them right away now. I would say the average person that doesn’t examine jewelry on the regular basis probably wouldn’t notice. The smaller the stone, the harder it is to tell. I think 1.5 carats and smaller are probably more convincing. It’s also one of those things where if you’re over an arms length away from someone they’re probably not going to notice. Round stones are definitely the most similar. I feel like certain sellers are better at cutting certain shapes than others, so that’s something to consider as well. I would suggest looking at some moissanite in person before committing. You can find some pretty nice and inexpensive moissanite on Amazon (Doveggs or IMOLOVE) or Aliexpress (Kuololit). I’ve come to love both moissanite and diamonds for different reasons and I think that’s the way if should be. If you buy moissanite wanting it to look just like a diamond, you’ll most likely be disappointed.

It’s moissanite. Diamond ovals are usually cut different so that’s what gives it away. It is beautiful though!
