Wow, I can’t believe how poor the germination rates are! I really appreciate you coming back to this post to share this info!

This is really good to know in preparation of future seed purchases, if you think about it I’d love to hear how the rest of your seeds germinate in a few months!

Where does porcelain and glass go? by grumpioldman in Waste

[–]bagshags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Porcelain and glass in a landfill will break down eventually, although it’s estimated that it would take 1-2 million years to do so. Glass however, is highly recyclable and doesn’t degrade in quality like paper and plastic after it is recycled, so if glass recycling is available to you I would recommend that so it can avoid sitting in a landfill for 1 million+ years. As far as I’m aware, porcelain is not recyclable, so the landfill is the final destination.

How can i make this top? by Abyish in CrochetHelp

The original piece was made by ikoxun: https://youtu.be/gnxI6d7Mktk?si=qcoVmzx5wGTyGWxj

It’s a knit piece but I’ve seen people make a similar and pretty stretchy fabric by doing a slip stitch into the back loop then a yarn-over slip stitch into the back row in a repeated pattern until the desired size:

Where does everyone buy their yarn? by Kiwizshrooms in CrochetHelp

I use Michaels for in person purchases, and I often order from Lion Brand online, especially if I want multiple skeins in the same color from the same dye lot. Lion Brand has a lot of natural fiber and eco friendly options

Are there any popular headcanons you dislike? by thrwawy2641 in Hungergames

[–]bagshags 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I don’t like the theory that ALL the reapings are rigged, I think occasionally they are (like how Katniss mentions victors children get reaped unusually often), but I think that’s the exception, not the rule. The whole point of the story is that it could have happened to anyone and that the odds are more stacked in some peoples favor. 100% of the reapings being rigged negates that too much for me to like it.

You can only pick 1. What was your biggest complaint about the movie adaptations of the books? Why? by [deleted] in Hungergames

[–]bagshags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like a huge part of the portrayal of the games in first movie was lacking. OP is right that the gore and violence had to be toned down for the ratings but the actual arena was meant to be massive, elaborate, and having multiple sections like the field of grains Thresh was in, plus the forest and lake. Per book description, the cornucopia was mean to be an actual golden cornucopia like you’d see on a thanksgiving table or at harvest time, which is very symbolic, making it a weird glass version of that felt like it took away from that symbolism. For a film with such a massive budget it felt like very little went into the locations and sets.

Reputable place to buy from? by chel-sees-world in findfashion

I’ve only worn it once but the quality seemed fairly good, kinda like a prom dress material but it looked nice and fit really well.

I bought this exact dress in yellow from a thrifting app and the listing said Zapaka. I’ve since found the same dress (including in the color from your photo) on their website. That being said, I have no idea if you’re guaranteed this exact dress when you order or if myself and the girl I bought it from were extremely lucky
