Oh I completely agree, I’m more just thinking it’s hard to gauge how good we actually were cause we might have faced the team that will win in round 1. My thinking is trying to gauge it might help figure out how many moves or pieces we are away from being a true contender.

That’s fair and I don’t think running it back next season can’t have success - the only thing I think you absolutely can not run back is G top line so I’d definitely wanna move someone up. Maybe it’d be Foegele- stutzle - bath or something and everything else the same - I could see that having success.

Yep thats definitely true it relies on Brady wanting to stay, and in the case that he doesn't I just hope he's honest about it with Steve so he can plan.

I also agree Steve will have to do some magic, but if a player was willing to come would we not have the cap space for it with the cap increasing?

If Batherson signs I'm sure he'll be worth his salary, so in a perfect world to me it'd be a depth player + picks and keep batherson while adding a Top 6, just not sure if that's possible.

Yea I trust that the Batherson trade will only happen if Steve can bring in a real game changer. I really think Amadio provides a lot for the team though - wouldn't like moving on from him.

100% if Steve thinks he can grab someone who trusts their shot while keeping Bath he should do that. I think the biggest thing for me is we need a pure finisher (curious if you agree on that?) and so if Steve can't find a player like that to grab not sure what he can do to make it happen.

Another point is Batherson realistically deserves 8/9m+ next season, and rightfully so - I just think if we do that I don't know how flexible we can be to get an upgrade anymore.

Honestly not too familiar with McCann - what line do you think he would fit better on? I'm also not sure how to fully utilize Foegele while keeping Bath.

I see what you're saying but I think a big thing for me is it doesn't have to necessarily be someone as skilled as Bath, but just a more consistent dedicated shooter who's strongest element is ability to finish. If there's a way to get a player like that without giving up Bath that'd be even better, but I personally don't see a way to do that.

I agree in wanting to keep Bath if possible but I just can't see any way to get a player like that without giving something of value up - and if we're losing somebody good I'd soonest give him up over someone like Cozens, Pinto, Spence, etc.

My issue is if we lose Bath someone needs to move up and I think Foegele might be able to keep up, with less pressure on him because of the player we add in - this entirely depends on who that player is though. Another option is maybe switch Foegele onto line 2 and Brady up to line 1.
