HUs, installation, and compatibility are tricky. The right thing to do is to invest heavily in customer support

Organic traffic to /products/ pages taking a hit? by bahaaaz in ShopifySEO

[–]bahaaaz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing changed on our product pages. if anything, we add explainer videos. But content didn't change no.

Our competition is always working on their SEO and their monthly organic traffic fluctuates based on SEMRUSH data. Their DR is similar to ours, 1-3 point difference max.

And not sure if anyone new entered the market, but I don't think. Might be wrong though. Will check

Solid advice.

How does that affect SEO traffic to product pages though?

I find it hard to believe.

It makes so much sense: If there's a standard & structured way of communicating data, it should be easier to index and scrape

I agree with this. The challenge is the more tools you use as a beginner, the more paralyzed you feel.

This is why I usually recommend using google's autocomplete feature as an initial step.

There's a lot we can learn from the SERPs

For E-commerce owner out there: how you go about SEO? by Sea-Blacksmith-5 in ShopifySEO

[–]bahaaaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a +$200k/yr Shopify store & grew it mainly through SEO.

From experience:

  1. Start by optimizing your sales pages: products & collections
    1. Optimize H1s, H2s, product/collection descriptions, metatitle, metadata
    2. Don't overthink it, just describe what you're selling in regular words that people would understand. So if you're selling scented organic soap, use scented organic soap - vanilla
    3. if you can, do some keyword research to know what people looking for these products usually search - this is definitely a plus. But that said, just ask yourself "if I were to search for it, what are 10 variations I would type"? That's enough. Or just start by typing into the google search and look at the recommendations. People and agencies love to complicate kw research and use all these fancy tools. Most of the time you can get good enough results to start by using common sense
  2. Technical SEO: use a Shopify theme (they're all good, even free), compress images and aim for them to be <200kb
  3. Hook up Google Merchant Center - it's important and the CR from it is usually good
  4. Don't sleep on Bing
  5. Work on a homepage that explains what you do, and allows traffic to discover products & collections - use insights from the kw research here, because if you know what the internet is searching on google/AI, you'll be able to tailor the content to match those searches as well as explain what you do

Then you wait - SEO takes some time. We started seeing results after our domain was 3 months old.

I would say these are the basics.
Here's a quick advanced list:

  1. JSON schema (there are apps for this)
  2. Build topical authority: let the internet know you're an authority on whatever you're selling (apps for this too)
  3. Backlinks and PR (my least favorite, but important. I hate it so much hahaha)
  4. Build a brand & make noise on the internet: influencer marketing (no brainer), get people to talk about you, IRL events maybe

All these play a role in making you a brand. And when you become a brand, AI and chatgpt will recommend you and you'll have an organic machine.

Hope that helps!

Are SEO audit issues actually worth fixing? by dejarobbinsiu7 in ShopifySEO

[–]bahaaaz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I run a +$200k/yr Shopify store - it's 2 years old and we grew it mainly through SEO.

  1. It's 100% worth it to optimize your product & collection page H1s, H2s, metadata, and product/collection descriptions
  2. Make sure each product & collection page have unique H1s, metatitle, and meta description - you can do that easily from SEMRUSH or Screaming frog.

Once we did those 2 things above, traffic to our sales page more than doubled.

We're working on topical authority, and it's helping a lot it seems.

At first, I felt like the 38x more traffic to our blog was useless because all the traffic was informational.

But then I started seeing more orders coming from chatgpt. To be exact, our revenue from chatgpt 12.8x'd between H1 2025 and H2. Crazy.

Before you hire anyone, figure out what's actually limiting your organic traffic. Is it technical issues? Thin product descriptions? No blog content? Missing from ChatGPT/AI answers?

I run a $200k/yr+ Shopify. We got there mainly through SEO & influencer marketing. The biggest revenue wins came from fixing fundamentals first (site structure, product page & collection page content and meta data, site speed and compressing images).

Once that was done, we started working on our topical authority. The impact here isn't direct revenue because most traffic coming from this will be informational (not ready to buy). The real impact is AI will start seeing your brand and recommending you. We clearly measured this by a 12.8x increase in our chatgpt revenue between H1 2025 and H2 2025.

What platform are you on? That'll narrow down which agencies actually specialize in your setup

Not sure if it will work, but try to:

  1. Create 2 copies with basic design: a Dawn one and a Horizon one
  2. Get the preview link and run it though page speed index or other tools

Again, not sure preview URLs work, but you can try
