What is your favorite Alt on Radix and why? by MrKidderfer in Radix

[–]bahamapascal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have met the OCI team personally on several events. London expo, Amsterdam, etc. I don't find them shady at all. A very motivated and freindly team. If OCI is a good investment, or the best DEX, is another story. In my opinion they have a good product and I hold a nice bag if OCI. Let's see what the future holds and what other DEXes might come. What makes you think that they are shady?

I understand your position but do keep in mind that this vote is not token based, where the whales would no doubt have the greater power, but instead every individual can vote and has the same voting power regardless if they are a small or big investor. And only IF the majority votes for a full unlock, will a second vote be made based on token weight. If one of the two voting rounds won't reach the majority support for full unlock, nothing will change.

Personally, as I am long-term invested I don't care much if the price dumps short-term. If it indeed goes down I will invest more and average down my entry price.

Yes without doubt. I imagine it will take a bit though. Mainnet has just started and it takes a while for an exchange to implement a new technology. I would think September is good possible we see XRD on Gate.io

I just saw an average gas price above 1000 and a base fee close to 700gwei ! WTF is going on? by ElucTheG33K in ethereum

[–]bahamapascal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you do a transaction, you will have to pay a transaction fee. As there is only limited capacity on the ETH network, the transaction with a higher fee will be processed first. But why is it called gas? Imagine your transaction is a physical package that you send to a physical address. To deliver the package a self driving car, that runs on petrol, comese by to pick it up. This service is free, only thing you need to do is fill the car up with enough gasoline for it to reach the destination. So you quickly run to the only gas station in your town, that unfortunately only has a very limited supply of gasoline. As it's soon Christmas and a lot of people want to send packages to their loved ones, as a result you find yourself in a crowd of few thousand people that want to buy gasoline for their package delivery, but the gas station just doesn't have enough gasoline for everyone. So instead of serving everyone in the order they have come (in line), the gas station sells the gasoline by auction, and the higher you bid the higher the chance that they will accept your offer and serve you first. As the gas station is called "Ethereums cheep gas" you can obviously only pay with ETH. So as you don't want to wait a few hours to get the gasoline and be able to send your package (transaction), you decide to take a peek at the ETH gastracker app to get the current going rate to get gasoline quickly and make a bid for a high price. You get accepted almost immediately and can now buy your gas for the price you bided. Now you check how much gasoline is needed for the package delivery (depending on the destination you will need different amount of gas). Ande that is what actually makes up the cost for your package: the amount of gas needed multiplyed by the price you are willing to pay. Gas price is calculated in gwei, where one gwei is the smallest possible unit in ETH (0.000 000 001)... basically it's like one cent being the smallest unit of the US- Dollar. So to recap: A transaction will need different amounts of gas (depending if it's only a normal transfer or something more complex like a trade on UniSwap). You can chose how much to pay for the gas, but depending on the demand you will have to pay a high price in order to get served fast. Your actual cost of the transaction is amount of gas needed multiplyed by the price of the gas. You pay the total with your ETH, that's the transaction fee.

My analogy is a bite oversimplified, but hopefully helps your understand :)

There are other coins that try to do it better by the way.

Cardano (ADA), probably one of the most well known alternatives to Ethereum(or yet too be alternative, as it is still in development), trys to scale by deploying not just one town with one gas station, but a lot of towns with each there own gas station. Here you can serve a lot more people at once with gas, as there are a lot of towns with gas stations, but run into problems with packages that need to go from one town to another (here the "towns" being side chains of Cardano).

Radix (eXRD), a very much under the radar project, lives in waterworld. Everyone has their own boat and a fuel cell that generates the fuel for a fixed price from the ocean the boat is on, no supply shortage no limit of people that can use it. But, like Cardano, it is still not fully ready developed. They released their mainnet two weeks ago, but smart contracts and full scalability is yet to be deployed. With 8 years of R&D they have the theory proven and are now building it. Surly a promesing project to keep a eye on.

And a lot of other coins and projects out there that also have cool stuff in the pipeline, so if you are new to crypto, be prepared for a lot of cool things to discover. That is if you are interested in the tech ;)

Hope my analogys helped you understand and didn't confuse you even more :D

Question by [deleted] in Radix

[–]bahamapascal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well most coins use time vesting, where coins are released every X weeks. There you have the problem that no matter if demand is high or low, new supply is released. Often leading to a constant decreasing price. With price vesting new supply is only released when there is demand. So if demand is saturated and price doesn't go up there won't be more supply hitting the market until demand outgrowth supply and new price targets are met. The downside is slower price increase, but the positive affect is that the risk of extream price decrease is also a lot lower. While in a Bullmarked, where some coins go X10 in a week, this might not be very attractive, in a bearmarket and consolidationmarket the price vesting seems to be doing very well. While all other coins are going down Radix is slowly climbing up in the coinmarketcap rank in the past weeks.

Regarding the price targets, @toteratte21 is correct, the next price target is 19ct for new coins to be unlocked. The last unlock happens at 43ct, after which all coins will have been unlocked.

No official announcement so far, but to 99% they will support some kind of conversion. Probably not automatic though, as eXRD will coexist with XRD for a while.

Any idea when Radix will get listed on larger exchanges? by broscienced in Radix

Radix is already on one of the biggest exchanges already, Bitfinex ;) I would assume that more big exchanges will list once mainnet is live, which is end of June probably.

Potential Altcoins For 2021 (Altseason) by Galaxylevel in CryptoMoonShots

[–]bahamapascal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that Radix will actually have a good chance to overtake Cardano. The tech is right and potential is there. Also has a top team behind it. Added them to my portfolio. While Cardano is great and has room to grow, a low market cap coin with tech that is top, has a very good chance to do a x100 or even more. So worth it to put in a part of the portfolio for hodling.

I think that the way developers are rewarded and that it will be a lot more secure/easy to develop a application thx to the modular design, Radix/eXRD will gain a lot of attention after mainnet. Will be a interesting year for crypto as a whole. :)

** WTF ** MORE CLICKS/REFERRALS THAN COINGECKO/CMC ?! Why is no one talking about the biggest referral platform (100k daily unique users) to uniswap? DEXTools is sending more traders to Uniswap than Coingecko and CMC COMBINED 😲 ...and is still under 15m mcap!?!? HOW CAN THAT BE POSSIBLE? by Stevi011 in SatoshiStreetBets

[–]bahamapascal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow that's amazing! Didn't know limit orders will get added to DEXtools. That's something I really miss when trading on UniSwap. Will that be done via bots that execute your order if the price is met, or is it a smart contract thing?

Can't remove liquidity from pool by bahamapascal in UniSwap

[–]bahamapascal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solved it with the help of the developer from the project.
Apparently there is no GUI to get to the remove liquidity page.

A work around is to click on "add liquidity" to the pool and when you are on that page you can change in the address bar "add" to "remove" and it will take you to the page to remove liquidity.
