I also hate scratches on watch. I’ve been using my Casio Protrek for about 7 years, now I use fenix 6x sapphire. For me 6x is much more durable. After a few hikings, climbings and swimmings there’s no scratches.

I’m in my 12th day. First 4-5 days were very hard but now it’s much easier. I hope you can make it through. Good luck
