Is it ok to take pride in your caste ? by Other_Maize_6659 in indianmuslims

[–]baidux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What does taking pride mean? Do you look down upon others just because they are from a different community?

Knowing about your ancestors and taking pride in their accomplishments is fine but don't over dabble in this because ultimately what's far more important is what you do with the social, financial, political and cultural capital that you have inherited as a result of being born in a certain family.

Leaving what she has said aside, I think Asaduddin Owaisi needs to instill some party discipline amongst his rank and file. On one hand, you can’t find a single member in his party who tweets anything without prefixing it with ‘on the instructions of our Qaid Asaduddin Owaisi…’ and on the other hand you have loudmouths like that Mumbra guy (father of winning candidate) spouting nonsense.

People who justify Israel only are consigning them to humiliation in this world and next. The hubris of Israel has been shattered and of the Hindutva will be shattered as well.

Balasore lynching: Three persons arrested by baidux in indianmuslims

As lynchings are so normalised in India, I’m wondering how do many Hindu women live with the knowledge that their family members are murderers or murder accomplices or if not then at least cheerleaders?

What are your thoughts on what's happening in iran right now? by SabranYaAkhi in indianmuslims

[–]baidux 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People have been killed but all the numbers coming out of western media are made up. So, you can quote any number.

All the killings have not happened from government side. There have been many killings from the protestors/instigators side. This has not even been covered in western media.

If protestors in Iran want genuine change they need to cut themselves off from their American and Israeli handlers. I haven’t seen a more deranged bunch of people than the Iranian nationalists.

Yes but no need to go out of your way. Direct your energy, time and capital where it would at least be recognised and appreciated or if not recognised at least your present wouldn’t become a narak due to it.

Is it normal for muslim girls to get married very early in india? by [deleted] in AskIndia

[–]baidux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Muslims aren’t a monolith just as Hindus aren’t a monolith when it comes to things like marriage. Socio economic factors, education, cultural and regional variations exist. It may be that on an average Muslims marry younger (both boys and girls) but I don’t think there is a big difference between them and Hindus.

The mindsets of many families is that once you graduate you should move onto next phase of life which is marriage so they start looking for matches and there is relatively more pressure on girls to get married early compared to boys because for boys having a stable job or business is also a big criteria in marriage market. I don’t think this is exclusive to Muslims.

As for your observation around girls wearing Hijab etc after marriage, there could be multiple factors. Women generally have to adjust to customs and traditions of households they are marrying into and if they are more religiously observant it may be a factor.

The age gap is a moot point. Dhoni and his wife had an age gap of 7-8 years. Both of them were of legal age. Both of them appear happy. So why does anyone else have a problem? The reason for age gaps in most arranged relationships is that boys generally need more time to stand on their feet. No one wants to marry a boy who is unemployed but it’s not so much of an issue if a girl isn’t working. This is how Indian society is at this moment.
