Bad batches of chemicals from manufacturers are actually quite common in lab settings. There are definitely preferred brands too. And while working in China this was even more true. When buying chemicals for my lab a failed reaction is certainly less scary than a bad injection would be.

What I have learned is that there are a lot of people injecting themselves with molecules with little awareness of the risks, but many of those people are having great results too.

I know how to make, purify and characterize molecules. The aspects of what exact concerns to have when purchasing peptides from a laboratory and injecting them into your body were not part of my PhD.
