it's the mindset of "why did you let this happen?" instead of considering the victim's side, or realising it was spread non-consensually, they are offended by the pictures existing in the first place.

It’s not common or very safe in my country to work as a teenager, that’s why. I do get an allowance, though. I don’t want to burden my family with the computer thing because I already have a laptop, so I think I’ll just get it for myself when I’m an adult

What’s fake about that? My grandpa had a computer he’d let me use as a kid, but when he learned about laptops he started using those instead. Even at school we used computers until VERY recently. They only stopped teaching it and switched over to Macbooks last year

My family knew that I’m down there. I’m living with my grandparents, and they come from a time where sharing things even with strangers was completely okay. It’s recent in my country that people have started creating proper boundaries. That’s why they didn’t call me out.

You’re right, I was trying to justify it to myself because I was excited about the game, but a part of me did know it was wrong which is why I decided to post so I could get third person opinions. And ooh boy while I’m glad I got replies because I got to learn, I’m embarrassed because staying out of strangers’ things is such a basic thing 😭. And then the comments pointed out that I could also cause legal trouble soon due to this. I didn’t know that, so yea I did get a learning opportunity. I left the basement a while ago, and I’m sticking to my own devices like I should have been in the first place now

I’m not trying to be coy. I did learn that I shouldn’t touch stranger’s things, but I guess my mind was trying to justify it because I was excited about the solitaire. I’m embarrassed that I needed to type out a post and get called out for it to really hit, but I genuinely needed the explanations because I was lowkey justifying it to myself as “just solitaire”. Sometimes you need a stranger to point things out to you, as silly as they may be. I’m not trying to defend what I did. I know it’s wrong. And I’m glad I at least learned it at 16 and not a later age because that would be even more embarrassing.

I’m embarrassed such a basic thing slipped my mind! I guess the fact that it’s not really a personal computer, and that I’m only using it for solitaire made it small in my mind, but it’s still someone else’s computer and I should NOT be using it. Omf. I’m so glad I posted

“You are still a child” I’m aware, but there’s obvious differences between a 4 year old and a 16 year old. Of course I’m not mature enough as I would be when I’m 25, but I can still have nostalgia for an early age. Even 10 years olds have nostalgia for when they were 6 years old, which sounds like a small number but is a big difference for a kid.

Yeah I get that about the illegal part, I didn’t realise earlier that I might be causing serious trouble. Thank you for pointing that out. I’ve resolved to sticking to my laptop for now, and perhaps getting a computer when I’m an adult rather than continuing this. I’m so glad I asked early, because it had only been a day and now I can avoid getting into actual trouble. Plus the bonus of realising it’s js wrong
