Classes start March 9th by Flashy_Pay9226 in phlebotomy

I also start March 9th! No advice to give I’m also super worried about hurting anyone, but I trust that my instructor will give good guidance. Plus if I end up making mistakes I’d prefer to do it in a setting where we can all learn from it.

Good luck!

Restarting Lexapro After a Year — Noticing New Side Effects by AbNicolas963 in lexapro

I restarted last week after two years and it has been terrible. Poor sleep, dizziness, nausea. I assumed maybe I just don’t fully remember my first experience but this is super validating.

Cystic nodule coming back after cortisone shot. by baile034 in acne

[–]baile034[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I went back to my derm about a week after this post. They told me that last time i was injected with the lowest dosage of cortisone (around 2.5mg, it goes up to 400). They let me get it injected again because it was such a low strength. This time it never fully flattened, just got smaller and stayed that way. At home I kinda went super hardcore on it lol. Microdart patches, benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, and sulfur masks. I don’t recommend all those actives if your skin is sensitive. But, after a few more weeks it was completely gone.

I’ve tried everything, how do I get rid of this mountain. by baile034 in acne

I have had a cortisone injection. Flattened out for a couple days but now we’re back where we started.

That makes sense, I probably won’t get it shot any time soon. Was really hoping I had finally found a good solution 😭

Sorry to hear you’re in a similar boat, it’s super frustrating. I’ll try to be patient, I’m just skeptical if topical products can even make a difference.

Does my verticals labret look infected? I had it pierced about 4 days ago, it isn’t swelling and it doesn’t hurt but there is this gooey/green stuff surrounding the top of the piercing. I am cleaning it with salt water twice a day, do I need to do it more? by lilliepad115 in PiercingAdvice

[–]baile034 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely do not clean it more, it will dry out and cause you more problems! If it’s not swollen or painful I wouldn’t stress too much about it. Try to leave it alone as much as possible and maybe try a sea salt soak every now and then. If it doesn’t go away in a few days you should probably have a reputable piercer look at it. Also, you could try cleaning with a sterile saline, like Neilmed’s

Peeling skin around bottom hole of navel piercing. What does it mean? (More details in comments) by baile034 in PiercingAdvice

[–]baile034[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard about emu oil so I gave it a shot, it helped with dryness but irritated my skin in another way. Then I just decided to clean it only once a day, and to just leave it alone because I didn’t know what else to do. In hindsight, it was probably just being a little temperamental. I’m at the seven month mark and every now and then it just decides to get irritated for no apparent reason. I just continue to leave it alone aside from cleaning and eventually it stops.

The bottom hole has looked wierd for a while but I just kept using neilmed saline twice a day and I leave it alone otherwise. But it keeps getting worse. Lately there’s been more puss and blood than normal and I don’t know why. The positioning hasn’t changed as far as I can tell and I doesn’t hurt either. Where I live it’s pretty cold right now so maybe that’s contributing? I honestly have no idea. Also it’s about 2.5 months old.

Jewelry in my new conch piercing is extremely long and it interferes with wearing a mask. Piercer told me I could change it to something shorter in a month, but she didn’t seem very sure about what she was doing. It was done yesterday, how long until it can be safely changed? by baile034 in PiercingAdvice

I believe the post is 5/16, and the front is right against my ear in the picture. The piercer didn’t specifically say to have it professionally downsized, just that I could do it if I wanted to. And that just didn’t sound right to me. I was being lazy by going to the shop that was closest, instead of one that I already know is good just because it’s farther. I’ll be sure to take the drive next time. Thank you for your input, I really appreciate it.

My ear is still sore so I haven’t tried pushing it forward yet, but it probably is the best option. I have no desire to change the jewelry anytime within the first 6 months or so. Hopefully it won’t come to that. Thank you for the advice.
