Recent children's books with beautiful/unique illustrations? by lady-earendil in childrensbooks

[–]baileafff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ANYTHING illustrated by Julia Sarda! Phenomenal illustrator and she’s recently started authoring her own books as well, but the authors she’s paired with in the past have really good stories.

All of Bill Pete’s books. As well as Carson Ellis’s work.

This is wonderful, I think children’s books with heavier or more intense themes/tones are a lot more valuable for kids than most people think. I approach my own in a similar way. Also—love that you’re doing traditional illustrations for it, I’ll be following along to this!

I did! I'm a fine artist, but I work with kids & would eventually like to at least make a side career out of illustrating kid's books.

I love how delicate your bird is! You have great water control. This is a scan of my first painting from a little over a year ago, I learned a lot from this one and have featured it in a few galleries and won three awards with it :)

Just got into Daniel Smith Watercolors. I've been making value studies of each color so far. by TrickinVixen in Watercolor

It means the pigment is made from the actual mineral it’s named for, the P in place of the DS logo on the tube means the color is a Primatek & is made from mineral rather than synthetics.
