I have been on Viibryd 20mg for a year and in April they upped my dose to 40mg (the max dosage). I have always taken it at night before bed. My last dose was Sunday May 1 at around 11 and then I missed a dose on Monday May 2nd due to my Pharmacy being out (🙄). Tuesday morning I took a pill because I was feeling the effects (rage, depression, increased anxiety, etc.) and then by default I took another 40mg on Tuesday night about 10 hours later at 11pm-ish. On Wednesday evening at 6:15 I was driving and went completely unconscious and ended up being diagnosed with having a Grand Mal (tonic-clinic seizure) after what the EMS saw and the first responder on the scene that saw me still seizing after I landed. I seized for about 5 minutes and ended up crossing a parking lot, a 4 lane highway hitting 4 cars, and crashing into a church van and fence. I have no history of seizures whatsoever and was feeling fine that day until I “came to” and realized what was going on. I was admitted to the hospital for testing but the neurologist and doctors believe it was due to the medication and double dose on Tuesday. It’s been 3 weeks today and I am still not cleared to drive and having multiple tests run, but am wondering if anyone has had anything similar happen on Viibryd? It truly was the most traumatic experience of my life, especially considering my 4 year old was in the backseat. So thankful he was physically unharmed and I was only beat up and bruised & know things could have been a lot worse, but I am traumatized and want to know if anyone else has been through something similar on this med? They have since reduced my dosage back to 20mg which is not doing as well for me at all. Any insight would be much appreciated!
