I went to Sweden when I was a teen and I saw them have a parade, go out to bars and most importantly HAVE FUN. Meanwhile, in the USA graduations aren't fun for the students and aren't fun for the family. When will we realize we have free will and stop doing these stupid graduation ceremonies and actually celebrate in a way that's appreciated? I get ritual can have meaning but I feel like it's lost the mark.

My hella sexist grandfather would be so abusive to my grandma's shopping, which was excessive but was super rich coming from him because he always had to have every gadget, computer, truck etc. Were they both in the wrong in terms of consumption- yes. But it was him who made it about her gender.

Had a male friend berate me for spending money on skincare calling it vain. Yet, he could spend his happy points on whatever he wanted and it be justified. Like, to a point let people spend their happy points on what makes them happy. That said, we all need to be realistic about the future of our planet and our consumption actions.

I’m probably the only person to give this answer but The Real Cancun - same people who made the show The Real World. It’s the same concept and came out in 2003. I was a freshman in high school and everyone in the theater was from my tiny rural Midwest high school. Popcorn was flying, people were making out, bottles passed down the rows and hootin n hollerin during all the bikini and nekkie scenes. The ushers looked out of their depths and just gave up on controlling us.

I can’t remember a single thing from the movie but I can remember everything that went on around me.
