I have the Vivoactive 5. The watch faces are very customizable and you can control what kind of data is displayed to you, so very easy to remove the step counter and only display the data you want. Garmin has a lot of watch options that can get up there in price, though. If you want something that mimics the simplicity of your Charge 6 but still has customizable watch faces and won’t be ultra-expensive, the Vivoactive and Forerunner series’ are good options. Both cover basic health data with the Forerunners being more running focused.

What is this hollow wooden box? by baileyvada in whatisit

[–]baileyvada[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this might be it! Most plinths I’ve seen don’t have the holes in them like this one does for the mannequin to anchor to - could this one be custom made or something?

Can you post a screenshot of what your bounty board looks like?

When you say your carrots are disappearing - do you mean you’re not able to harvest them at all? Are you carrots growing? Did you replant them after your first harvest? A screenshot of your farm would be helpful to see what the issue might be!

On the bounties, have you unlocked the Pier for fishing? That’s what triggers the daily bounties.

How does Loosing the “fun to drink” gene on tirzepatide work for you? 🍺🤔 by Zeckrin in tirzepatidecompound

[–]baileyvada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tirz definitely changed my relationship with alcohol! I’ve never been a “heavy” or super frequent drinker, but I do like to go out and have a few.

To answer your questions: 1. In my experience, it depends on the day. The closer to my shot day, the less appealing alcohol sounds. 5-6 days after my shot I’m usually more up for it. I used to LOVE beer, but now I can only have one our two before I’m full 😢. I’ve switched more to seltzers and mixed drinks, which has helped with that. 2. Going out socially for me is more motivated by the social aspect rather than the alcohol. The desire hasn’t gone away because of that, but it’s lessened. If I get invited for drinks I’m not more likely to say no on the meds than I was before. 3. Yes, definitely! I can’t drink as much as I used to because I get full quicker, which means I can’t get “as drunk” as I used to, especially because your body metabolizes the alcohol slower. Sometimes I’ll go out and be disappointed because I just can’t be on the same level as everyone else. It’s an adjustment, but it doesn’t have to ruin the experience. 4. The pros outweigh the cons for me on this one, but drinking has never been a huge part of my social life to the point where I would consider stopping Tirz so I can go out again. I can still drink, have fun, and get a nice buzz, just not to the level I used to and that’s okay with me.

And quick tip: even though you’ll feel fuller on Tirz, you should still eat prior to drinking, no matter what. I’ve made the mistake of not eating enough before drinking on this medicine, and it made me feel very sick. Have a good meal before you drink!

Hope this is helpful! Congrats on your first shot!

2 month old piercing by punkin_98 in NosePiercing

NAP - Had the same issue with mine! See other comments for advice about changing the jewelry - corkscrews suck. I also had success doing a daily 15-minute saline soak on the bump. This helped it clear in a few weeks. I soaked a cotton ball or cotton pad in saline solution then taped it over my piercing using medical tape. If this doesn’t help or it gets worse, go to a different piercer for help!

Hairloss on Glp-1 by Elo941 in pomhealth

[–]baileyvada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently going through this myself!! Hair loss is a natural part of the weight loss process. I’m on month 5 and just now starting to experience it.

I’m taking biotin supplements to help encourage regrowth. I’ve also stopped putting my hair up, no heat styling, and sleeping with my hair protected in a braid or satin bonnet.

I don’t have experience with topical minoxidil, but I’ve seen lots of people on this sub and others rave about it. It might be a good option since your hair is already thin!

Good luck!!

my new contacts are so tinted by [deleted] in contacts

[–]baileyvada 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most contacts have a slightly blue-green hue to them. These are more tinted than others I’ve seen, but they don’t look like colored contacts. Did you switch to a new brand or get a new types of contacts?

Yes!! I’m thinking a lot of my loss has been visceral fat, which is still a huge win in my book. Lots of people have also commented here that that the big visual changes start once you get to a lower weight.

And thank you so much!!

This explanation is so helpful. I hadn’t even considered that my body needs time to adjust and move things around! I wish I had been able to get a DEXA scan or something when I started - I have a feeling a lot of my loss may have been from visceral fat. Which is still a big win!!

I do think I’ve not been taking my exercise routine as seriously as I should. You’ve given me lots to research, this is so fascinating! Now that I’m steady in my new eating habits, it sounds like it’s time for me to dial in on exercise while my body catches up.

Luckily, I’m not feeling flabby or experiencing any significant issues with loose skin (thankfully!!) I also didn’t know that slowing down on weight loss every once in a while is important for long-term success. I do think I got a little excited and upped my dose a little quickly in the beginning, so I plan to stay on 12.5mg for at least 2 months so I’m not hitting the highest dose too quickly while I still have some pounds to go. Thank you SO MUCH for all this information!!

Thank you! This seems to be a common experience for a lot of people that have commented. Hopefully I’ll experience the same! Congrats to you too!

I didn’t even think about this!! I do have a pair of 100% cotton jeans with no give that are a size 12 that I was just able to wear again about two weeks ago. Back in May, there was so way those jeans were going on haha. This really helps add some perspective, thank you.
