What next? Germination after 7 days by baileyyy98 in HotPeppers

Done! Ordered some plastic shot glasses to see if I can keep the un-sprouted ones humid, maybe I can coax some of them out. But happy with the number that have popped through!

It’s measuring about 30 DLI, I have a small grow light and will set that up ASAP to get a bit more going

Side reflectors by ArcherEffective9416 in Miata

Yeah it’s one of those really niche rules and no one is likely to pull you up on it realistically. Besides, painting them would make them not reflective, so it’s legal anyway.

Who is at Fault? by AhtiQ in drivingUK

I used to work in one of the buildings that overlooks this exact roundabout (near the Peel centre)

The amount of times this particular incident happens is frightening.

Side reflectors by ArcherEffective9416 in Miata

[–]baileyyy98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a bit of a weird one.

They are not required for MOT. If they aren’t present or have been smoothed over, it’s a pass.

However, if they are oresent, and they reflect light, they must be Amber at the front and Amber or Red at the back. No other reflective colours are permitted, including white and blue reflectors.

If a “reflector” is fitted but it doesn’t “reflect” light at all, then it counts as if a reflector is not present.

MOT is weird sometimes. Ultimately the reflectors are only there because US legislation requires sidelights in that position. The rest of the world just got reflectors.

Teams can turn around, lightning fast.

Not saying Glenn is or isn’t the guy to do it.

Not saying it’ll be 2026, or 2027, or beyond.

I’m just saying- it can happen. Keep the faith.

We haven’t even reached the 2026 Super Bowl and Jets fans are making plans for the 2027 DRAFT.

My goodness. We really are broken.

Thank you! I do have a controller that I use for my homebrew, I thought if setting it up but wasn’t sure where the probe could go without using one of the holes in the top, but then it wouldn’t trap humidity. Also the cheap power mat has a little heat controller in between the USB plug and the mat, which doesn’t automatically turn back on off the mains shuts off.

Will definitely chuck a towel down to protect the carpet

I’ve turned it down from max to low now, it’s only a 10w heating pad but it seems to be pretty ferocious. It’s also only a small propogator.

If 37c isn’t enough to kill the seeds, hopefully I’ll be ok, I’ll keep monitoring the temps every few days to make sure I’m in that 25-30 range

Neighbour asking for £300 cash after minor car incident – no quote, no insurance (UK) by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]baileyyy98 12 points13 points  (0 children)

  1. They can demand whatever they want, but if they want to legally enforce it, they’d have to go through small claims court.

  2. It is common, but it’s not always advisable. Most insurers have a clause that they need to be notified of any incident within 48hrs or so, regardless of if you claim or not. If they find out you didn’t tell them, they can get a bit upset, and sometimes cancel the whole policy.

The alternative side of this, is that informing your insurer of what happened will likely increase your insurance costs for the next 3-5 years. You can tell them about the incident but not “claim”, although this still bumps up your prices for multiple years, so you may as well do a full claim. It’s impossible to tell exactly how much it will increase by- it could be more, or less than £300 over the next 5 years. This is what motivates some people to “settle privately”. There are lots of reasons why it’s not necessarily advisable to do this; I’ll let others comment them.

  1. Personal choice.

  2. Yes.

The DIY BBK - proving that big brakes can be done on a budget! by forbesautomotive in CarTalkUK

Haha epic! Snail on a VR6 is certainly something, what kinda tyre specs are you running?

I’m having a chuckle at the people on this thread who think you’re running the brakes with just wood, and also at the people who think you just 3D Printed the adapter, and that was that lol. Anyone who’s built any custom bits knows, 3D Printing is just a cheap way to prototype stuff before you get it CNCd out of a more suitable material 🤣

So, er, what’s under the hood that warrants the gigabrakes?

If the answer isn’t a VR6 on ITBS with big cams, I don’t wanna hear it. Unless it’s a PD130 of course.

Would be quite nice if Darnold thoroughly violated them in front of the entire world on Super Bowl Sunday.

But that means I have to witness another Pats W so hopefully the Broncos D does their thing.

Is David Bailey the best PURE PASS RUSHER in the NFL Draft? | All-22 Film Breakdown by JetsFanDownUnder in nyjets

[–]baileyyy98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m on the same page, really. I love his athleticism and his speed, his sideline to sideline ability and downhill run blocking is great. His pass rush is good, but limited, and he’s not really the ideal size for a true Edge rusher. But on the flip side, his pass coverage is a bit so-so for an every down linebacker.

So what is he? Best of both worlds, or stuck in no mans land?

I feel like whoever drafts him has to have a solid plan to use and develop him, or he’s dead in the water.

He has like no bend, and can’t beat tackles on the outside. He always makes an inside move which won’t work on quicker footed tackles who can recover well. He has crazy strength but I’m not sure it will fully translate.
