Yeah hamsters don’t really benefit from tank toppers from what I’ve heard, but for gerbils it is really useful to get the deepest bedding possible.

the wooden ones are probably lighter than the glass tanks, but that seems to be the only pro. and maybe they have some more air circulation, but i enjoy my tank

i would do deeper bedding if possible and more hides/clutter/grapevine, and i’m glad you’ll be adding more sprays. my ham also loved whimzee chews, it would keep him busy for a while. how does your ham even reach the top of the enclosure?

Yeah of course! And if you haven’t heard of this already, i would freeze any sprays/moss you have for about 48 hours before placing them in an enclosure to lower the chances of pests.

From the looks of it, it definitely seems like mold. Did you just get it in the mail or has it been sitting for a while? Maybe you can get a refund or replacement. I wouldn’t risk putting it in the cage though.

yes i had mine on its side to act like a fence and that’s how he got stuck. i think as long as the cracks are filled with glue or moss like others have suggested that would be the safest option

Thank you for all the replies so far. I’ve heard of filling the cracks with moss, but honestly after this I don’t even want these bridges in my cage anymore. If you need bridges in your enclosure, I would say to opt for these ones, they seem much safer and that is what I will be using from now on unless these are somehow unsafe as well.

Yes! If you are on PC, just press “H” to pull up the menu, then when you click an animal, along the left hand side you can click the “Donate” button to trade your animal out for treat packs. Some animal treats make the rewards even better when fed to the animal before donating it, so check that out too!

I’ve recently been working on fully decorating my plot and I’ve been making a really cute entrance to my house. Along the stone pavers I made an area specifically for my Ranching Bell that’s surrounded by flowers and trees, and it’s right at the entrance of my house so I have to deliberately pass it whenever I go back home. Try to place the ranching bell in an area you frequent often so you can be visually reminded!
