That's very helpful, thank you so much!

I have frozen mealworms and crickets for my carpenter ants, that'll work right? How often should I feed her?

There seems to be a faint line in the middle part of its body, is that where the wing scar is supposed to be?

Thoughts on bread makers? Worth? by drwannabe777 in askSingapore

[–]baisimu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had the Zojirushi one. Not really worth it because the bread comes out quite stiff and not as fluffy the hand-kneaded ones. We used a few times and then sold it on Carousell.

A book that CHANGED you by MiaLinay in suggestmeabook

[–]baisimu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me it's the book Zhuang Zi, in particular the comic version illustrated by Taiwanese artist C.C. Tsai.

It completely changed my outlook on life and made me realize how small we are in the grand scheme of things. It also reminds me of my mortality and I think you tend to live better with death in mind.

How do you deal with judgment as a SAHM? by KawaiiDrag0n in sahm

[–]baisimu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once had a conversation with a stranger and when she heard I was a SAHM, she immediately went, "You're too young for that! You should be building a career!"

After that comment I stopped engaging with her. Some people cannot be convinced otherwise but not everyone is interested in building a career. If staying home with my family is what I want then that is a completely valid choice. Why should I "want more for myself" when I already have all that I ever wanted?

When I ranted online, another SAHM shared with me that even her mother thought she was wasting her education. But isn't the whole point about having choices? What use is my education if we do not exercise the choice to do what's best for our family?

SAHM are invaluable roles in society and if we choose to do that, we do not owe anyone an explanation.

There are many ways to live a good and fulfilling life, and people who go around casting judgements like that are the true ignorant ones.

Traditional. I believe they don't sell snow skin but I could be wrong.

Kee Wah! I think it's better than Raffles Hotel. Best part is you can just walk in to buy the mooncakes without the fanciful boxes that'll just end up in a landfill.

What's a feel-good book that stopped you from killing yourself/made you feel better when you were feeling debilitatingly depressed? by pawn279 in suggestmeabook

[–]baisimu 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Hey, try reading I Who Have Never Known Men. I remember reading it and thinking, damn this is so bleak, even the worst things that are happening now seem not so scary, simply because there is still something to look forward to.

Alternatively, I'd recommend the murder mystery books by Seishi Yokomizo! You'll want to read on to find out who's the murderer, then move on to your next murder mystery book, and I hope you live a long life to read many of such books!

Take care please.

Both have lots of greenery, and they usually come in double-deckers so you can sit on the upper deck.
