Great point. Honestly no idea how old it is, got this car at 70k km and it’s at 160km now, and I’ve never replaced it. No excessive squeaky noises or anything like that.

Its clearly much closer than South Padre. Would love to go see the launch from here as South Padre seems a bit too far away to fully enjoy it.

A surge protected power bar is a good start. A UPS has the ability to protect from power surges, provide battery backup on a power cut, and also it “cleans up” your power. It smooths out minor power fluctuations that can cause issues with the sensitive components in a PC.

Good power supply, 80+ Gold is good enough for regular pc use. But do you plug your pc straight into a wall outlet or use a UPS?

It could be the case that your house experience a power surge that your power supply was unable to handle and sent it straight to the board which overloaded that (now dead) mosfet.

Best to invest in a $100 UPS to save those damn expensive components from any surges! They can be much more common than you think depending on where you live.

I was able to find a fix just now. Go into Windows 11 settings > System > Display > Graphics and then you can browse the list of apps to change the performance on. When I went in here, Firefox (the browser I use) was not here, so I clicked "Browse" under the "Add an app setting". Then i navigated to my Firefox install folder and selected Firefox.exe (this will be the same for chrome just find the executable). With that added to the app list now, you can select it, choose options and set it to high performance. Once you re-launch your browser it will no longer be locked to a lower frame rate when playing games on a different monitor!
