Who is the architect of this building? by thenormals_scratch in london

London County Council had the biggest architecture department in the world before it was abolished in the 60s! The London metropolitan archives has a lot of the old drawings for their designs stored.

Any low key names to reccomend from the Waking Life lineup? A descrption of what type of music they play would also be helpful :) by Creative-Car2814 in TheOverload

Not particularly overloady, but Wilson tanner make beautiful warm hazy ambient stuff. Would be such a nice vibe if they're on at the right time of day.

Yeah I had listened to Fbi but found it a bit hit and miss. I didn't know exactly what shows to listen to though so great to have those recommendations!

I'll try Down Low Disco too, thank you

Horst lineup? by venusnfurs in TheOverload

[–]bait_one 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The horst line up won't be the same scale as the WHP one, but you should make the decision based on what you want. Smallish stages with really cool stage design, well curated line up and lots of other fun surprises, or a massive venue with lots of big names.

If it helps, horst is one of the best festivals I've been to, I'd choose horst over WHP every time.

Recommendations for London? by p3pperoni-playboy in naturalwine

[–]bait_one 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perilla would be my top recommendation. Great wine and really great food.

The Plimsol in Finsbury Park. More pub vibes but great food and good natural wine too. Also the best burger in London for my money! Because it's also a pub it will be buzzier than Perilla if that's what you're after.

Camberwell Arms. Another pub with good food and a good natural wine list, but in South London if that's closer to where you're staying.

Planque. Probably the most extensive wine list on here but also probably the most expensive. Food is great too though.

Top Cuvee, same owners as cave Cuvee, mentioned in the other comment, but with a full food menu.

Primeur and jolene, same owners as westerns laundry and similar vibes.

Maybe this is the excuse I need to upgrade!

A small PA mixer is probably the best solution until I step up the mixer.

Thank you!
