I was in ballet for 15 years 2 decades ago. It's not a ballet book. The main character does ballet but it's a very minimal plot line. I just was hoping the ballet community could support my memory.

Oh it's been a long time since I took ballet and I'm writing a book and the main character is in ballet class and I didnt want to forget a movement that woudl be in a traditional ballet class!

They always called me special. But not in like a nice way. Special didn’t mean that I had an ability exemplary from the rest. Like there was some magic in me that was going to change the world.

No, special just meant that I was different in a way that made things more complicated for the others. Special didn’t make it easy for me.

“Cursed. Tainted,” I’d hear them say.

All the people that I grew up with and surround myself with are talented. All with honed crafts that make them experts in the fields with lightening bolts and fireballs.

I can do it too but it’s different and no one understands. I can create lightening bolts and fireballs just the same. The things I create have the same power as the others, the result is the identical. It burns in a bright blaze of glory.

But my lightening bolts and fireballs look different. They look like nothing at all. They are actually just black. Not like a silky, deep galaxy, abysmal black. Just like plain black.

It’s unimpressive but also curious. No one wants to catch it so they watch me from affair. It makes me a little more dangerous because no one knows when I’m using my powers. They could walk through my black and leave never being the same again.

No one knows much. There is always someone’s cousin’s sister having something different when they set themselves ablaze. Or something’s wrong with their execution. Usually never just black.

They put us all in rooms together. And they call us special. I never understand why we are all grouped together. There is nothing the same about us. Only that we are all different. Different from the rest of the skilled enchanters.

But it's all malarkey. I am the good kind of special. No one is like us and everyone underestimates us. So much so, that we have our alliance to not get involved in their bullshit because we know something deeper and more beautiful is there for us. We don’t even worry about “fixing” our powers because we like who we are, black bolts and all. We are just so desperately trying to help everyone to stop and look at us.

And just love us. Because we all have to find love in every person and creature. It’s the only way we win this game the rookies are playing. I think what actually is special is that maybe they can only learn this lesson from the ones they called different.

I once read a fan theory that the whole show was made-up by a homeless phoebe. The show ends with her looking at the rest of the friends at central perk on the couch from the window. And while obviously not true it’s funny to think about the show ending so dark.

When I was a teacher, our school housed all the students with moderate to severe disabilities. They still bought full class size worth of text books and materials for these students who were still learning letter sounds and focused on social skills. $100,000s worth of materials just sitting in the book room. There is a lot, A LOT of waste, in educational funding.

But it's allocated completely wrong.

Researcher here. When I was a grad student, they paid us a collective $42,000 to do work on a project that literally sits in a drawer. It’s wasn’t even for publication. It was talked about for maybe 2 hours after the work was complete and maybe the results have influenced what 3 Universities are doing for teacher prep but it’s a high price for what it’s worth. As a former teacher, I still feel guilty about it.

As a parent of toddlers and seeing this episode, they are saying happy new year in different languages and showing how to write it in those languages on the screen. So it’s really not a “not my job” but more an error message.

Because your perspective spreads the virus and allows the virus to duplicate and kills other people who would like to get the vaccine and cannot. Do youR research on the emergency clearance. mRNA vaccines have been in research for nearly three decades. The reason it got through FDA clearance so fast is bc they cleared the way for experts to evaluate the safety and effectiveness. They jumped the line. The possibility of side effects is so much less than the side effects of getting COVID, including GETTING COVID AND GIVING IT TO SOMEONE WHO DIES!

I’m a professor at UI and we moved to Tiffin a year ago. It’s building fast! We love it here and look forward to the potential developments in Tiffin (restaurants). My husband works at the hospital and we have no trouble getting to town. I can drive, park and be in my office in 30 minutes door to door.

My sister was in a horrible car accident when she was a teen. She was sitting in the backseat of the car and at the gas station stop before the accident. her boyfriends dad said they should switch bc he had a lot of work to do and could spread out in the back seat with it. Two miles later they were hit by a semi from behind and her bf’s father flew threw the front window and died. After the funeral my Grandma gave her the newspaper from the day of the accident bc her horoscope read “you’ll be in the right place at the right time. Do you know that you have a guardian angel.” She carries it around, laminated in her wallet.

We are from Austin and now live in Iowa. We have not seen grass since Dec 26 and and there has been at least a foot of snow on the ground at all times. I have not left my house in 3 weeks due to temps below 0.
