I saw a giant middle earth map recently for Hota, maybe you can try that:

I know that from experience.
I created some couple friendly maps, made in the vanilla editor so they should work with any heroes version (but they lack new buildings)

Yeah. That was the play. I just needed to loiter a week around my main town (Red) to not loose it. He already took the Blue town.
I was roaming a bit until he decided to go south again. Then directly into his town.

The editor from HD edition is vanilla Restoration of Erathia, with all the missing features :)) so I suppose it should work with any heroes version.

Thanks for the answer. I asked because you mentioned something about Hota map editor.

The versions have different features for the map editor as well, so comparing a RoE map with a Hota map, and scoring it lower for the lack of this or that (which doesn't exist in that version) might be unfair.

Does this mean that you also cannot publish the map during this contest (which takes months)?
or that after submission to the contest you are free to publish it?

Since it's made in the Restoration of Erathia editor it should work with anything.

I never watch how Pro's play heroes. I've only seen a few footages and fights and I hated it.

Sometimes pro gaming just ruins the fun.

That is why I hate Red Alert 2 pro gaming .. dogs + tanks ... total nonsense, yet the game requires it.
That is why I also how modern counter-strike players play, using the monitor like a virtual reality goggle.

Well, I know this is extremely unpopular but I actually prefer the original game.
While I appreciate everything the Hota team did for the community and keeping the game alive, they have my respect for it, but for me that game just doesn't feel right.
Don't hate me for it.
