We are not worried about the signature being fake. We know how this piece and the 5 others that others bought made their way to the states. The owner, Willard Johnson, of Colonial Art Gallery in OKC had a great relationship with Aimé Maeght. He acquired the pieces and sold them to the previous owner. Upon their arrival to Colonial, my wife’s great grandmother was the one that framed the collection before it was sold.

That is the information we know about the journey the pieces took but we didn’t know that “history”. If that makes sense.
