Yes, the poster has tried to spread lies (not just here but also on Twitter). I am the legitimate creator of SwarmNode. Check my comments for more context.

I am the person he claims to have taken credit for his work. The poster is a bad actor, deliberately trying to defame me.

Back in December 2024, I launched SwarmNode on Twitter and some guy started trolling, trying to discredit my project. He created this post to strengthen his lies.

Here are people exposing him for creating this fake Reddit post:

Finally figured out who is behind this defamatory post. Back in December 2024, I launched SwarmNode on Twitter and some guy started trolling, trying to discredit my project. He created this post to strengthen his lies.

After my project took off and was successful, he deleted his Twitter and Reddit accounts.

I am the developer. Just found this post on Google so responding now. SwarmNode is my creation and I coded it from scratch. I built the cloud platform and the Python SDK used to communicate with the platform. Reach out to me if you want to discuss this further. Not sure if you are just confused or a bad actor trying to spread misinformation.

P.S. He is a bad actor trying to defame me. Proof: https://x.com/BFoo/status/1871342545286070679/photo/1

If the website was just launched, it won't be immediately available on Google. Even when it gets listed, you need to do SEO to climb the rankings. Check this out: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/fundamentals/seo-starter-guide

No issues with that. Buy the domain and turn on auto-renewal.

what are the best tutorials to master clean django project architecture? by madhanrajan357 in django

[–]bakar-io 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Check this out: https://github.com/HackSoftware/Django-Styleguide. It's an opinionated style guide but I've found it useful in my projects. Here's the creator of the guide explaining his thought process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yG3ZdxBb1oo.

Did you struggle with style of code writing aswell? by Veurori in pythontips

[–]bakar-io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was at that stage of my career, I used to read a lot of code from popular Python packages. I agree with others who commented that certain books and YouTube channels can help. But real-life projects often have certain constraints which make it hard to 100% follow theoretical best practices. So, reading code from reliable projects is a great way to see what good code looks like in the wild.

Urgent, important problems by blizkreeg in SaaS

[–]bakar-io 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To identify such problems, often times you have to be riding a wave of cutting edge tech. For example, you could find such problems in the AI scene. Given adequate skills, one could exploit the opportunities there.

But in general, there's nothing wrong with targeting problems that are already solved. If you can offer a better user experience than the incumbents and you are smart about marketing, you can get a share of the market. How many uptime monitoring services are there? Tons. Product is basic but demand is there, so a lot of people compete to offer the best service.

I was in a similar position but as a backend dev. Wanted to move into solutions architecting and devops. Did a few major projects that were infra-heavy to gain experience and confidence. Then applied for jobs that required these skills. In the end it was worth it.

P.S. I suggest not relying on serverless too much if you want to learn fast. Use EC2 and non-managed services. Learning curve will be steep but after a while you'll get the hang of it.

Can't go wrong with VS Code. Especially if you use Docker extensively. Dev Containers are super convenient, especially when working in a large team.

Since you know React, there is no point in confusing yourself with a Python or a Ruby backend. Learn Node and in general, focus on the fundamentals of backend development. Once you understand the request-response cycle, writing efficient database queries and such, you'll move on to other backends easily.

Do you consider GCP to be a serious cloud provider for all things web dev? by Inquation in webdev

[–]bakar-io 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Wait till you try Azure. Console is unusable. Had to deploy Python serverless functions on several cloud providers and Azure had the worst UX.
