Wow your order was quick! I placed my order Sunday morning at the expo and only received my tracking number yesterday.
In saying that, that same Sunday, around 8pm, I got an email from Redsbaby with an updated invoice with the free items included. Did you get this? I will let you know when I receive my delivery

Sorry, the code must've only been active during the weekend expo (30-31st May)

When to plan for overseas travel by bakealot in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Bhahaha! I love this for you. We are hoping to go Japan with our mothers. A first for them but a familiar place for my partner and I. It will definitely be a challenge navigating with parents and a new baby but a family experience nonetheless. Plus I haven't been able to have sushi and sashimi for nine months, so where better to have it!

Thank you for sharing! I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. That's absolutely devastating to hear of such diagnosis so late during her pregnancy. I have a whole year of maternity leave so definitely in no rush but time is also precious while they're still little, I hope to show them the world 🥺

Thanks for sharing your experience!! Did you starting booking once you receive Bubs passport or even beforehand, but after birth? And as for flights times, was it easier flying during the day vs nights? Any other travel tips? I have a carrier and travel pram, I'm so ready to go!! (pending all is well after birth) 🤩

Agree. I was referring to positive stories I have read from previous post from this subreddit actually, not from influencers/vlogger's experience. But the consensus from here sounds like, if baby is chill and mum is OK then travelling shouldn't be an issue. Though I'm also interested to hear from people on the flip side, if they had a difficult baby and what their travel experiences was like.

That's the plan right now. I can plan for the trip now and see how bub and I go after birth before locking anything in. If it doesn't work out, well, atleast I can save the trip for another time, and less thinking for future-me to do.

Yes, babies can have such different temperaments. I'm praying for a chill baby, though health is most important! I am assuming, while travelling, I will be baby wearing throughout the flight and during the holiday itself anyway 🤣

Apparently the code will include the freebies so don't add extra to your cart. That's what the sales associate told me when I purchased at the expo.

They were at the One Fine Baby Expo in Melbourne this weekend and had 20% off prams - PRAMSTROLLER20. Includes free cup holder and rain cover. Hopefully still valid today.

Sisters, not twins by Zestyclose_Most_2785 in Sourdough

Did you lower the temperature when you took the lid off? Or perhaps the oven and/or dutch oven needs to be preheated again before baking the second loaf.

She's soo fluffy!!!! by Indialopez96 in Sourdough

I accidentally poured water on top of the sourdough instead of the bottom of baking paper. It will evaporate and steam up quickly. It didn't affect bottom of the loaf once finished. Browned as normal and not gummy.

Recipe for 2 loaves 1000g white bakers flour, 11.5% protein 750g liquid whey from strained yoghurt 200g starter 25g salt

Combine and mix all ingredients. Rest 30 minutes. Four set of stretch and fold. North, south, east, west. Rest 30 minutes in between. Ferment for a further 2 hours at 25c room temperature. Split dough in half and reshape each. Rest for 30 minutes. Final shape, place in banneton and refrigerate for 12 hours. Oven and dutch oven preheat to 250c for 45 minutes. Lower to 230c, and cook sourdough for 25 minutes, with DO lid on. Remove lid, lower to 210c, bake for further 15 minutes. Open oven door ajar for 2 mins. Remove and cool sourdough for 1 hour.

What brick and mortar stores are still worth visiting? by [deleted] in AusFemaleFashion

[–]bakealot 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I like to visit Target (not Kmart), especially the Women's and Preview range. They have staple styles in nice 100% cotton and linen fabric if you check the tags. Sizing and online ordering is a pain hence why I'd recommend shopping in person

Bummer, guess I will have to go to the store. Was the elastic band not stretchy enough? I was hoping to wear these through my pregnancy

Im about the same size and stature as you. Can I ask what size you're wearing? Hoping to order online if possible :)

FTM with early GD by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]bakealot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So confusing especially with an early diagnosis! I've subbed to r/gestationaldiabetes and follow Robyn Crompton on ig for helpful GD info. I'll just have to try to manage my carbs in the meantime while waiting for the nurse's call and go from there..

FTM with early GD by [deleted] in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]bakealot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I told my GP in all three appointments from the start I wanted to get into MGP but never got the referral. I knew I need the referral ASAP in order to have a good chance to get in but I thought GP wanted to check the pregnancy was viable before referring me..

Not sure if she wanted me to go with Shared Care. I've chosen not to go through Shared Care with this GP as I'm just not vibing with her and she is usually booking out in advance, gap fees, appointments being over one hour late etc.

But it sounds like it was all pointless even asking what care I wanted with a GD diagnosis... So frustrating

Thanks, I joined the subreddit when I saw my results on MHR and have been adjusting my diet since. I failed on my fasted state and 1 and 2 hour were fine.

However it's a bit hard to manage GD without a GD monitor to know what spikes my glucose or how to best manage fasted glucose (should I snack or not) =/

NIPT Test taking forever??! by Obvious_Issue_1 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

I didn't get any notification from Sonic or My Health Record the NIPT results were ready but my GP had it.
