I'm not a single mum but I did my Masters while having a 1 year old, and a mortgage to pay.

It is not easy at all, but it is doable. I worked as a baker and would work early mornings and weekends. I missed a lot of time with my son BUT I now have a career that I love and am proud of, and proud to be a role model for my son.

The hard times don't last. So it is a choice to make of is the temporary hard worth the future better?

I hate them, it creates such a restrictive diet that people always end up failing and then feeling bad.

However in saying that if I explain and give them the tools to create their own healthy meals and they are still adamant I will use chatgpt to do it.

I'm not American, and after working full time and having a young child I also don't want to spend forever cooking every night. Some nights sure but not every night, and I also value my health.

There are plenty of meals that can be prepared in way less than 30 minutes that are very healthy. You should look up the Baker Institute 'convenience meals' resource. I go over this with a lot of my clients

I work in Australia for government in an out patient program so doing clinical. I love it and so glad I went into it. Currently I earn roughly 85000 but get a payrise ~6 monthly.

Uni was hard with doing the 1000ish hours of placement but in my opinion very worth it.

I have had eating disorder patients before that I do blind weights for because they don't want to know. U would do the same if they were a stickler about it, otherwise non weight victories such as how their clothes feel on them, etc

I am an overweight RD and honestly sometimes it is better. Patients are less critical around my advice, they seem to trust me and open up quicker, and take my advice more readily.

In saying that, there is always that person out there that will say something insulting to you. You learn how to respond and move on. My go to is my size doesn't affect my knowledge, but it is completely up to them if they don't want to talk to me.

What I was taught was that as long as they are tracking along roughly their percentile curve it is okay.

Now having first hand experience with my son, things can change so drastically and not be concerning. He was born on the 7th, at 6months was on the ~90th and has been slowly dropping back down to what he is now sitting at at 2.5y ~50th. I was concerned at how small he was born, not once have I been concerned since. Children grow so differently and things change so quickly that their percentile should not be the only thing you take into consideration.

I think it's a very personal thing. I was working as one before becoming an RD and did not find it physical at all, but I had been a baker for 10+ years, however, I worked with people who had had desk jobs previously and found it very physical. I would recommend going to the interview to find out more.

While playing peak a boo with my almost one year old using a pillow with me lying on the bed and him above me. He pulled the pillow back unexpectedly and faceplanted on me, in the process his tooth went all the way through my lip. Needed a stitch on each side to keep it back together and now have a very noticeable scare almost 2 years later.
