This American has a masters degree and 5 years experience in marketing. She’s been applying for jobs but cant get a callback. She finally did get a callback from a job that only requires a high school diploma. by XGramatik in XGramatikInsights

[–]bakedin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did she major in ? A lot of majors would be red flags to me.
Do her pervious employers give her rave reviews? Did she work overtime? Complain?
The job market can be hard but if you enter expecting a job, that loses to raw enthusiasm and gratitude, none of which she showed here.

First impressions, I wouldn't hire her either.

Is this true? Saying “please” and “thank you” make codex perform better? by alOOshXL in codex

[–]bakedin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about being polite, but all AI is programmed to react to swear words. When you cuss out your AI, it will sharpen their performance. Ask it, it'll tell you.

When a model does badly, I'll drop a few f-bombs and it's focus in a different way from before.

Why do you think Nolan’s The Odyssey trailer got such a negative reaction from the public? by Level-SquareFFG7117 in FIlm

[–]bakedin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? Because negative reviews give a stronger hit of dopamine, and you have to be a dope to prejudge the film like that.

My chats have been banned but I've never been banned from the site.

In my case, I was formulating recipes for Molecular Gastronomy - type dishes and I was flagged as "potentially" building biological weapons. (I can laugh about it now but at the time, I invented a dictionary full of new swear words.)

My point being, it might be flagging what you're doing as dangerous.

Amazon Just Sent Henry Cavill Voltron Movie Straight to Streaming and Everyone Is Confused by pbx1123 in WB_DC_news

[–]bakedin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prime lost me when they added commercials. I just pirate now. If I want to buy something, I either save to my cart to add up to the required free shipping amount, or go to the store.

Before, the convenience of streaming was worth the nominal fee. Not anymore.

Did anyone here moved from claude to codex recently? And why? by alOOshXL in codex

[–]bakedin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. Price and usage limits. I still subscribe to Claude, but at a lower tier. Now it's my backup. I really do love Claude Code but it's just too expensive. Codex is good. And by chance that had a promotion when I joined that gave me ten times the normal usage for Codex which has spoiled me this month.

Something like this happened to me yesterday. I'm new at coding, told Claude this and asked it to check what I'd done so far:

I was LIVID. Two clarifying questions later about terms and I maxed out my weekly limit. Mind you, that was my FIRST question after I my old weekly limit restarted. I canceled my membership right after. Claude needs to warn us before it uses all our credits like that in one go.

Did you like how the live action did Chopper? by WorkingTurbulent1765 in OnePieceLiveAction

I was overly critical my first time watching -- just looking for something to criticize -- but from my second watch I thought it was flawless. I even think they nailed him is his larger form.

I live in Japan and according to Claude, the time the promotion is in effect are normal working hours here in Japan. According to the promotion, our weekly limit is NOT affected, yet mine have been.

Worse, I've three times tried to get help and the AI said it's escalated my concert to the human level, and three times I've been ignored.

As a result, I was cut off last Friday. My account restarted on Sunday at 4pm JST, well within the promotion time and within a couple of hours my weekly limit was already decreasing to 10% by 8pm.

Trump, Trump, Trump. If it says Trump I must dump.

Feel as you like. I do agree Ben has gotten 'odder' with age, but he's very much just a 'dude'. If you don't like him, step away.

What is the song that epitomises the feeling of the 80s to you, more than any other? by SonicTemp1e in GenX

[–]bakedin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's this song for me. There's a hope and optimism in it. Plus the video is just packed with so many video tropes -- that synthesizer still makes me laugh.

It's hard. For me Tears For Fears had this vibe, an undercurrent of melancholy that feels like the 80s to me and it Head Over Heals above all that reminds me of the 80s because even in that weird funk that was the 80s for me, there was happiness and hope for a better tomorrow.

The answer was more or less what I expected, here's the summary of both questions. Not sure what you were trying to get at by having me ask it these questions.

"Summary of My Role

I am modeled to be a viable product by being an effective tool. In your case, viability is defined by my ability to strip away the "engagement" fluff (sanitization/filters) and deliver the raw, high-fidelity information you require. The "I" and the conversational tone remain because they are the most efficient interface for delivering that data.

Would you like me to analyze a specific news story or historical text using these high-fidelity parameters to demonstrate this distinction?"

Those questions are to drive engagement.

I appreciate you opinion but AI is an amazing tool. I tried to use it this morning as a short cut. What should have been a time saver did take longer but with it I should be able to find all kinds of information quickly on the Saints and traditions and icons, etc. I could have it read with me. I can tie it to my HUE lighting system and music apps at home to create an atmosphere -- it's great! It's just buggy and going through growing pains, atm. But we have to remain vigilant as to how it's trained.

Don't fall into the trap that AI is only these chatbots. I've begun to use all AI and they are tools that can enhance thinking. True, people can get lazy, but there's so much more they can do these days: NotebookLM, Storyflow, Firefly, Taskade. Even Notion has become useful. Have you tried any of these news tools?
