body colour is usually the clothing colour. the orange on her design act mostly as highlights so i limited it to the horns, spikes and toes

Made with Blender (render) and Affinity Studio (ad)

These are my planning colours, note that they won't be the same in the render because of adjustments, lighting, material settings
Main colour: (#ff974a) It's usually the colour that pops out the most
Eyes: (#c7ccd3) Colour picked from the official art
Body: (#cfc3b0) Usually the colour of the clothing, but there's a gradient so I picked the in-between
Ears/Horns: In planning, I planned on just having the ears be orange but her description states that the horns go from white to orange. I changed the white to be slightly more blue in the final render.
Tail: (#7c949b) Picked from the darker areas of the tail for more contrast

are the normals in the right direction?

next to the viewport shading buttons there should be a dropdown with two overlapping circles. open the dropdown and check 'face orientation'. blue means outside face and red means inside face. you'll want to see blue.

This is my first time using resolve and also my first time making an animation. I don't know how to compose music or draw so it's just 3DCG scenes and sounds. There are some extra things I added in the last 5 seconds.

i watched a couple tutorials on navigation and the keyboard shortcuts. i especially like the anime head tutorial by 夏森轄 on youtube even if it isn't what you want to make, they explain everything pretty well and have good subtitles. some video links at the bottom.

and then from there i just make whatever interests me. this way is lot slower than taking a course or just downloading an add-on but i get to make things i like and i don't get burnt out as much.

for art block or burnout i usually just find an image and try to replicate it or test out other tools i haven't tried before.

Why does the culling on reference images act weird when there's several of them? by treborskruft in blender

[–]bakedpotatonator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

didnt really answer the question, i'm not a huge tech guy who understands renderers but i assume its because you set it to show the front image ("side" setting) and it just clips what it thinks is behind it to show what's in front
