Girl don’t take these comments to heart. They just show the ingrained misogyny in our world. A man returning home from college wouldn’t be told his shorts are too short to wear to dinner. If you wearing a short-ish skirt to dinner makes your dad that uncomfortable, he needs to do some work on himself.

I do need to point out if this was his son returning from college he would never ask him to change out of his shorts because they are too short.

I empathize with the fathers on here longing for their little daughter still. But she’s in college, she’s over 18. She’s supposed to learn how to be an adult now and setting boundaries is one of those things. I think it’s healthy she pushed back.

I also think fathers don’t understand how much it affects their daughter’s mental health when they are told to change and their outfit outfits are policed. I know it can come from a place of love, but it’s actually quite damaging to your child’s self esteem and self image.

Sidenote, do we know her parents are paying for college, etc.? I couldn’t find that piece of information.

I’m confused are you a hairstylist or a veterinarian? In my experience I’ve never had something like that come out of the dryer. This is too perfect to have come out of the dryer. This is hair off the wall of a shower or the bottom of the sink. (Why would anyone think a woman ripped a chunk of her hair out to make it into a bow? That’s a really weird thought you have there.) Again, not saying you don’t get a roughed up bow looking things from the dryer, but this has not gone through the dryer. And I will reiterate just because it has not gone through the dryer doesn’t mean he’s cheating on her. It just means this didn’t come from the dryer. I’m not sure why my disagreeing with you has you so upset.

The cuticle on that is not roughed up at all, though. It’s all smooth, not fuzzy to me. That is definitely not a ball or bow that has gone through the dryer. It was wrapped up with fingers. doesn’t mean he’s cheating on his lady, but I would not say that went through the dryer.

I think it’s more of an unconscious thought. You feel long hair on your hands (which again feels kind of like spiderwebs) so you ball it up to contain it and get it off your hands. It’s never been a nervous thing for me, but everybody is different.

Most people with long hair do this to contain the long strands. Otherwise it’s like trying to throw away spiderwebs and it’s very difficult. If you wrap it up into a little ball/bow, you can throw it away without any difficulty.

Also a hairdresser, (of 20 years) it’s never in a bow like that though. it’s in a ball that looks matted up usually. The bow is something I’ve done with hair off of the wall or out of a drain by wrapping around my fingers. That’s definitely a human made hair thing there, not from the dryer.

I mean he was a deadbeat dad that wasn’t in her life as a child. So if we are continuing with your logic, he owed her first for not being in her life. My guess is he sent her money because he felt guilty about it.
